Job Title: Associate Product Manager
Location: Remote
Duration : 12 Months with potential FTE
 
Job Description:
  • This role is responsible for helping define and refine features for a product backlog.
  • The product is a digital, customer-facing platform that enables customer onboarding to the omnipod.
  • A qualified candidate must have digital product management experience. An ideal candidate would also have onboarding experience.
  • Could come from any industry (e.g. onboarding new customers for a streaming service) not necessarily beneficial to have med device. Please highlight if they have worked on similar projects.
  • Should have experience with SAFe Agile, as well as experience with leading delivery teams. However, they need to be flexible. Someone fluid vs ‘by the book’ with methodologies.
  • Fully remote, no preference for location or time zone.
  • Should have Jira and Confluence experience
  • Soft skills: Leadership experience, flexible with accepting change.
  • Targeting 3-5 years of Product Owner or Product Manager experience.
 
Additional Notes:
  • The Associate Product Manager, Onboarding and Data Sharing will enhance and manage the onboarding process for the Omnipod digital platform, ensuring a seamless user experience.
  • This role involves leading and guiding product teams, coordinating with cross-functional delivery teams, and managing stakeholder expectations.
  • Key responsibilities include maintaining and prioritizing the product backlog, applying agile methodologies, and using Jira and Confluence for project tracking and documentation.
  • Candidates should have proven product management experience, especially in onboarding and data sharing, with a strong understanding of digital platforms and agile frameworks.
  • This fully remote position offers flexible location and starts as temporary, with potential for a permanent role based on business need.

Position Overview:
  • We are looking for a self-motivated, experienced Associate Product Manager to join our End-to-End (E2E) Customer Experience team responsible for developing new products and optimizing existing capabilities throughout the customer journey.
  • Working in an Agile environment, in collaboration with a cross-functional team, this person will be responsible for defining and executing the Product roadmap for our digital customer experience offerings and ensuring the Backlog is properly prioritized, defined and executed for the team.
  • Works closely with the Product Manager and business stakeholders to define and prioritize the team’s feature backlog
  • Works closely with the Product Marketing Manager to understand the Insulet customer journey and product launch strategies that will impact business processes across the customer journey
  • Develops process flows to illustrate the impact on operations because of the new or improved capabilities
  • Defines features with acceptance criteria, dependencies, assumptions, risks, and success metrics
  • Works closely with technical architects to obtain high-level work estimation and solution designs for release planning
  • Maintains the conceptual and technical integrity of the features for the team 
  • Provides input into release timelines and investigates alternate paths forward on potential timing options
  • Drives scope tradeoff evaluations on feature implementation
  • Defines Program Increment objectives as part of the SAFe Agile planning methodology
  • Participates in usability studies to bring voice of the customer on a feature to the team
  • Supports the Product Manager with business case development (both cost and value) for new opportunities and product improvements
  • Partners with Solution Leads to ensure design and development consistency across all work within the teams
  • Supports software/vendor selection processes when necessary.
  • Serves as 1st escalation point for Product Owners of delivery teams (questions on feature refinement, solution options, and/or in sprint tradeoffs
 
Education and Experience:
Minimum Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of relevant work experience.
  • 5+ years of experience using Agile methodologies, related to Product Owner role.
  • Knowledgeable of IT systems development strongly preferred
  • Familiarity with Web and CRM platforms strongly preferred
  • Demonstrates strong communication skills with audiences with various levels of technical background.
  • Experience in digital customer experience/success is preferred
  • Demonstrated flexibility and ability to function in a fast-paced, growth industry and work environment
  • Strong problem-solving skills for complex business challenges.
  • Passion to continuously improve processes and practices
 
Preferred Skills and Competencies:
  • Experience in the Medical Device industry is a plus
  • Familiarity with Scaled Agile Framework(SAFe)
  • Able to work independently with minimum supervision
  • Proactive at communicating with various stakeholders in the organization
  • Detail oriented, with effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated abilities to leverage creativity in order to overcome obstacles and work with a sense of urgency
  • Able to organize and judge multiple priorities
