What you'll be doing

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced leader for our US Change Initiatives Business Effectiveness team. This pivotal role will drive our change initiative prioritization and initiative intake process, oversee portfolio management, and spearhead process improvements, ensuring operational excellence and impactful change across the organization. This role will report the Director, US Change Administration and support the broader US Change Initiatives and Corporate Communications teams.

How you'll succeed

  • Create a strategic roadmap for US Change Initiatives Business Effectiveness team, including building a vision around ongoing improvements, integrating them into related bank processes
  • Learn and maintain a comprehensive knowledge of bank’s applicable policies, processes, and procedures
  • Lead the team that acts as a subject matter expert, guiding requesters and ensuring adherence for change initiative prioritization and approval processes
  • Be an expert in ensuring necessary artifacts are complete and accurate as well as captured and maintained in required repositories
  • Support the US Change Initiatives group with ongoing operations, including inventorying and maintaining documentation such as procedures, job descriptions, onboarding checklist, and shared presentations.
  • Collaborate with Governance & Controls partners to ensure business line risk management practices are complete, comprehensive and adhered to.
  • Organize, lead, or assist with key meetings for US Change Initiatives, such as Executive Steering Committee for Change Initiatives, group training forums, portfolio and change initiative oversight meetings, etc
  • Identify opportunities and lead activities related to process improvement. Ensure proposed solutions are efficient, effective, and fit within required policy and standards requirements
  • Work closely with Head of US Change Initiatives and Corporate Communication with ad hoc efforts and executive presentations
  • Operate independently with high quality, detail-oriented work
  • Drive high internal partner satisfaction though servant leadership, effective communication, and providing outstanding assistance

Who you are

  • Effective leadership capabilities with strong people management and development skills
  • Ability to influence key stakeholders through well-articulated strategies and benefit driven value statements
  • Curious, creative thinker with a collaborative approach to problem-solving
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills - both written and oral. Ability to communicate complicated matters in a simple, structured way to senior management
  • Proven ability to build collaborative relationships with key stakeholders across functions and borders
  • Adapts well to fast-paced and changing environment.
  • Promotes teamwork and creates focus around what is important, is approachable and viewed as a partner
  • Minimum of 10 years prior Program and Project Management or related experience, in support of the financial services industry
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of project management principles, methodologies, and best practices.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • College Degree required

At CIBC, we offer a competitive total rewards package. This role has an expected salary range of $145K - $170K for the market based on experience, qualifications, and location of the position. The successful candidate may be eligible to participate in the relevant business unit’s incentive compensation plan, which may also include a discretionary bonus component.
