As a Senior Contract Specialist, you will partner closely with our Customer Solutions Legal Team leadership and legal counsel to support contracting opportunities. You will work within the framework of sales, contracting, legal, finance, and sales operations strategies, legal and administrative regulations, and company policies and procedures to guide internal stakeholders through the decision-making process and contracting experience.
You will identify business and legal risks, propose creative solutions for risk mitigation, escalate legal review and resolution of legal issues related to contracts, and professionally and solutions-oriented represent Stryker’s interests to our internal and external stakeholders and customers.
This is a remote role within the United States.
What you will do:
Work directly with Customer Solutions and multiple business unit division counsel. Under minimal supervision, review and negotiate commercial contracts and establish business relationships with our customers/partners.
Draft, edit, review, and negotiate complex agreements with minimal supervision, managing business and legal risk while effectively supporting our internal and external customers in a timely and fast-paced environment.
Provide excellent, time-sensitive, solutions-oriented, strategic contracting support to internal and external stakeholders.
Exhibit solid negotiation skills, including comfort in negotiating contract terms with customers.
Exhibit the ability to influence without authority.
Build and maintain strong relationships with sales, finance, operations, and attorney stakeholders across the organization (as applicable).
Serve as a contracting and negotiating expert to other areas within the organization, as required.
Exercise excellent judgment in identifying and escalating issues to management and/or for legal review in a timely manner.
Maintain a comprehensive knowledge of Stryker’s product lines, competitive environment, and customers to better support functional initiatives and provide recommendations to internal stakeholders.
Monitor and track the status of contract-related matters and proactively provide updates as requested.
Identify system or process improvements that increase efficiency, compliance, or reduce cost to the Business.
Serve as a liaison between Stryker business units and Legal, fostering two-way communication of evolving business needs, challenges, and opportunities.
Manage and lead complex healthcare agreement negotiations, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations, including fraud and abuse laws, company policies, and anticompetition laws.

3+ years of work experience working in Health Care contracts
5+ years of work experience with contracts
Paralegal certification
Experience working with Uniform Commercial Code
Experience drafting, redline reviewing documentation
Experience with direct contract negotiations
Expertise with MS office products
Salesforce experience
$75,300 - $156,900 salary plus bonus eligible + benefits. Actual minimum and maximum may vary based on location. Individual pay is based on skills, experience, and other relevant factors.
