Position Summary
EBI Consulting is seeking an Associate Project Manager focused on Building Hazardous Materials (Asbestos, Lead, Mold, Radon, PCBs, other Hazardous Building Materials, avian guano, etc.), Environmental (Phase I, Phase II), and/or Environmental Health and Safety (EH&S) assessments. You will be responsible to manage, perform, or help perform local inspections, and abatement projects, as well as manage work performed by other EBI staff and/or subcontractors. EBI has a variety of local and regional work that allows the Associate Project Manager to learn and perform a variety of scientific studies, with a mix of field and office work. You will have the opportunity to support Operational, Sales and Business Development initiatives as part of the development of your portfolio of Environmental Consulting skills. This position offers the opportunity to grow as a project manager, senior project management, account manager, and additional business development roles.
This position reports to a Senior Program Manager within the Building Sciences group and is designated as a remote/work from home position. The clientele this position supports are located primarily in the New York / New Jersey region, so candidates should already be established in this area. There will be approximately 30% local travel expected to be successful in this position, so candidates will need to be comfortable with traveling as part of their project manager role and responsibility.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Execute project scope and field work, revise as appropriate for project success
- Oversee and ensure project milestones and deadlines are achieved, manage project budgets, complete projects on time and on budget
- Ownership of full project life cycle, from proposal generation, through execution, to project close-out and invoicing
- Expected to manage multiple projects/assignments simultaneously
- Set expectations and communicate project status to clients and internal management
- Coordinate with and manage outside consultants, subcontractors, and laboratories
Qualifications and Capabilities
- Bachelor’s degree from accredited college or university in related field
- 3 - 5 years of progressive environmental consulting experience related to Building Hazardous Materials, Environmental, or EH&S assessments required
- New York State Licensed Asbestos Inspector and Mold Assessor is strongly preferred. New York City Asbestos Investigator is also preferred. Additional Asbestos licenses in New York and the surrounding states are a plus and strongly preferred
- OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER is strongly preferred
