Protect Professionals Claims Management, a division of Protector Plans, is seeking a Medical Malpractice Claims Adjuster.

This can be a remote from home opportunity.

The Claims Team of Protect Professionals Claims Management, a division of Protector Plans, provides claim services for professional liability insurance customers on a nationwide basis. We have over 160 years of combined experience in the insurance profession. Our claims team has designed customized claims management practices specifically tailored for the liability claims needs of professionals.

We achieve this goal by working with the insureds during all stages of a matter, which provides us the opportunity to demonstrate our unparalleled knowledge and commitment to each situation. Our team consists of former practicing defense attorneys and seasoned adjusters who have a deep insight and understanding of professional malpractice and the challenges facing them today.

We are growing and seeking an exceptional individual with proven discipline, and commitment to join our team as a Claims Specialist.

The hired individual will investigate/evaluate claims involving medical malpractice brought against our dental and medical business clients, which also include State Regulatory and/or Licensing Boards complaints. This is a remote from home opportunity.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

  • Adjust assigned claims in accordance with established procedures, policy coverages and applicable state laws and regulations regarding claims handling.

  • Conduct and/or coordinate investigations of reported matters to evaluate coverage, liability and damages, secure appropriate documentation pertaining to the reported matter, and prepare the claim/matter for disposition with appropriate regard for cost containment.

  • Maintain diary of upcoming actions/events and take appropriate action in a timely manner.

  • Act as primary liaison to the insured with respect to a claim.

  • Establish timely and accurate reserves for each claim file and review and adjust reserves as appropriate.

  • Coordinate defense of litigated claims.

  • Maintain accurate and complete files with respect to all activities relating to each claim file.   

  • Assist and cooperate in all internal and external audits conducted with respect to the Department’s operations.

  • Close claim files, when appropriate.

  • Conduct appropriate state and federally mandated reporting.

  • Other duties may be assigned.

  • Some minor travel to attend mediations or settlement conference where remote attendance is not allowed

WHAT YOU WILL NEED:

  • 5–7-year minimum experience handling Dental and/or Medical Malpractice Claims

  • Experience with Healthcare or EPL and D&O claims highly preferred

  • Proficient with MS Office Suite, Excel, Word, Outlook

  • Bachelor’s degree or Jurisprudence Degree highly recommended

Pay Range

95,500 - 102,500 Annual

The pay range provided above is made in good faith and based on our lowest and highest annual salary or hourly rate paid for the role and takes into account years of experience required, geography, and/or budget for the role.
