Position Purpose: Leads our dynamic team responsible for designing, implementing, and supporting our cloud deployments. This role will play a critical part in driving our cloud strategy and ensuring the successful delivery of cloud-based solutions that meet our business needs. Directs the design and management of an organization's cloud systems, applications, policies, and strategy. Develops scalable architecture to support applications and infrastructure on IaaS and PaaS platforms. Establishes the evaluation process to select, implement, and maintain the best cloud solutions for the organization. Executes requirements gathering activities with stakeholders and vendors. Implements robust security management and privacy requirements are incorporated into cloud hardware, software, and applications. Establishes audit standards, controls, and processes to monitor and optimize cloud infrastructure. Remains up-to-date, extensive, and deep knowledge of cloud products, technology, and best practices.

  • Lead and manage the Cloud Engineering team, providing direction, mentorship, and support to ensure high performance and professional growth.
  • Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of complex, multi-cloud infrastructure and services, ensuring scalability, reliability, and security.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including IT, security, and product development, to align cloud strategies with business objectives.
  • Directs and mentors a team for the cloud services unit responsible for managing the cloud platform
  • Partners closely with cloud & enterprise architecture teams to develop and enforce cloud standards, best practices, and roadmap capabilities
  • Develops deep understanding in technical domain and demonstrates thought leadership in emerging areas
  • Partners with internal risk and information security teams to ensure that appropriate controls and security rigor are in place for cloud platforms
  • Strategizes closely with application development teams to provide new platform service offerings to enable & support their success
  • Functions as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for planning & executing on cloud platform architecture enhancements including network, security, and automation
  • Manages as the owner for the reliability, availability, and performance of core cloud platform functions
  • Manages department staff including hiring, performance management and career development to ensure alignment with defined goals
  • Performs other duties as assigned
  • Complies with all policies and standards

Education/Experience: Requires a Bachelor's degree and 7+ years of related experience, including prior management experience. Or equivalent experience acquired through accomplishments of applicable knowledge, duties, scope and skill reflective of the level of this position.

Technical Skills:

  • One or more of the following skills are desired.
  • Strong knowledge of cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and cloud-native technologies.
  • Understanding of cloud architecture, infrastructure, and security best practices.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make strategic decisions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels

Pay Range: $154,500.00 - $285,100.00 per year

Centene offers a comprehensive benefits package including: competitive pay, health insurance, 401K and stock purchase plans, tuition reimbursement, paid time off plus holidays, and a flexible approach to work with remote, hybrid, field or office work schedules.  Actual pay will be adjusted based on an individual's skills, experience, education, and other job-related factors permitted by law.  Total compensation may also include additional forms of incentives.
