GEICO is seeking an experienced FP&A Solution Architect to provide expertise and guidance in supporting the FP&A departments. This individual will be a key advisor and partner to Finance to redesign the way they use their technologies in managing GEICO’s business.
The Senior FP&A Solution Architect will report to the Senior Director of Finance Technologies and will provide systems solutions, functional process recommendations, and work with multiple Finance and Technology experts to support the systems strategy for the company’s Finance Planning and Management Reporting applications. The individual in this role will need to be able to partner with the engineering teams in the establishment and implementation of new or revised systems and programs.
The ideal candidate has deep Financial Systems experience across multiple companies to support deploying best practices by leveraging their knowledge of various ERPs (e.g. PeopleSoft; Oracle EBS; Oracle Cloud; Hyperion; Workday; or SAP). Prior Financial Services Industry experience is required, with a solid understanding of the functional and technical aspects of ERP and EPM systems and Management Reporting technologies.
Position Responsibilities
As the Senior FP&A Solutions Architect supporting Finance functions you will:
Leverage your deep Functional and Technical systems expertise to drive towards the right solution to support the department and GEICO’s current and future needs
Engage in cross-functional collaboration throughout the entire software lifecycle
Lead design sessions with peers to ensure systems are well designed, efficient, and meet Business expectations
Collaborate with the Finance Leaders for the Management Reporting, Budgeting and Planning, Cost Management, Profitability and Business Line Management reporting, and Technology Cost Management departments to ensure their organizational technology goals are met
Have a deep understanding of multi-entity department functions to support the technology roadmap for Management Reporting, Budgeting and Planning, Hierarchy and Financial data governance, Profitability and Business Line Management
Work with Business leaders to support project roadmaps which align to business objectives and sequenced by priority and resource availability
Support and try to influence customers and stakeholders, and manage divergent expectations
Ensure a strong control and governance framework is established and maintained to support SOX and Audit reviews
Facilitate Business and Technology discussions at various leadership levels to ensure alignment towards long term goals of Finance and Technology
Analyze and translate business and functional specifications and change requests into technical specifications
Consistently share best practices and improve processes within and across teams
Qualifications
20+ years of Finance Systems experience with industry leading ERP solutions (e.g. implementing and supporting PeopleSoft; Oracle EBS; Oracle Cloud; Hyperion; Workday; or SAP)
10+ years of lead experience in guiding teams in support of Finance Systems
10+ years supporting some of the following system types: Enterprise Profitability Management; Budgeting & Planning system; an Enterprise Hierarchy Management system; a Unit Cost Management system; or various Analytical Reporting tools
5+ years working with an Enterprise Profitability Management system (e.g. OFSAA; PS EPM; Apptio; etc)
Deep Finance domain expertise to be able to work with senior Finance leaders to interpret their process and functional needs into system solutions
Strong understanding of Accounting process and Management reporting philosophies to partner with Finance Leaders
Ability to communicate and work directly with leaders across Technology and Finance
Sound understanding of project management techniques, methodologies, and best practices.
Strong problem-solving abilities
Ability to excel in a fast-paced environment
Knowledge and experience with the software development life cycle
Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented collaborative environment
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business Administration, or equivalent education or work experience
Annual Salary
$130,000.00 - $260,000.00
The above annual salary range is a general guideline. Multiple factors are taken into consideration to arrive at the final hourly rate/ annual salary to be offered to the selected candidate. Factors include, but are not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the role, the selected candidate’s work experience, education and training, the work location as well as market and business considerations.
