Senior Systems Engineer

At inventYOU, a leading IT consulting company, we are seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to join our growing team. This remote role will support one of Europe's largest organizations, focusing on managing and optimizing cloud infrastructure and server environments. If you have extensive experience with Azure and AWS, as well as a solid background in server administration and incident management, we want to hear from you!

Your Role
As a Senior Systems Engineer at inventYOU, you will be responsible for:

• Deploying application hotfixes and patches across the environment.
• Administering Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) and Platform as a Service (PaaS) resources, primarily with Azure and AWS.
• Managing updates for Windows Azure and AWS VMs.
• Upgrading and migrating Microsoft Windows Server instances to the latest OS versions.
• Monitoring server performance, proactively identifying issues, and proposing solutions.
• Automating configuration management for both on-premises and cloud infrastructures using tools like Ansible and Terraform.
• Managing second-tier incidents and applying appropriate solutions or mitigations.
• Administering modern authentication protocols (ENTRA ID, OAUTH 2/OpenID/SAML).
• Managing Windows Server environments (VMs, AD, ADFS, MIM, etc.).
• Investigating the root cause of incidents and proposing permanent solutions.

Requirements

To succeed in this role, you should have:

• A Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 10 years of professional experience in a similar role.
• Proficiency in English (B2/C1 level or higher).
• Expertise in managing Windows Azure/AWS VMs and Microsoft Windows Server instances.
• Extensive experience with automated configuration management (e.g., Ansible, Terraform).
• Proficient in modern authentication protocols such as ENTRA ID, OAUTH 2/OpenID/SAML, and Windows Server administration (VMs, AD, ADFS, MIM, etc.).
• Strong ability to monitor server performance, anticipate potential issues, and propose effective solutions.
• A service-oriented attitude with well-developed interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work under pressure, multitask, and deliver efficient solutions in complex environments.
• High attention to detail and a strong sense of responsibility.

Desirable Experience

• Experience with Web Application Firewall administration.
• Knowledge of Load Balancer and Application Gateway administration.
• Expertise in hardening both Windows and Linux servers.
• Familiarity with Ubuntu Linux server management and updates.
