The System Administrator I will be a main point of contact for user support and provide excellent and timely customer service to internal and external clients.

Location: Remote near Buffalo, NY

Job Responsibilities: 

  • Assist in wiring, installing, maintaining, and upgrading new hardware and software
  • Maintain the integrity of the equipment inventory and allocation process
  • Troubleshoot and resolves basic network and hardware issues
  • Assist in researching and evaluating new software and hardware
  • Assist in testing the disaster recovery plan 
  • Perform regular back-ups of system data per documented plan and performs restore of system data as required by users
  • Assist with IT security implementation and maintenance
  • Provide a time estimate and accomplish tasks within that estimate 
  • Inform more senior employees if estimate cannot be met
  • Provide basic technical support and training to users and the help desk
  • Track employee support requests and communicates progress
  • Other duties as assigned 

Qualifications: 

  • Previous system administration experience preferred
  • Base knowledge of systems and technology 
  • Strong work ethic with a hands-on and pro-active approach 
  • Ability to successfully centralize and integrate processes
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Good verbal and written communication skills 
  • Positive attitude and good interpersonal skills
  • Ability to operate independently and with the team
  • Detail-oriented and good organizational skills 
  • Good active listening skills 

Education: 

  • Bachelors in computer science or related field preferred
  • Masters in computer science, or related field a plus
