Position Summary:

The VP, Pricing position will manage, provide leadership and support in all aspects of business analytics activities, pricing strategy and cost of goods (COGS) optimization for Meitheal’s product portfolio/pipeline to maximize product profitability. The VP’s primary focus will be facilitating the development of comprehensive pricing analytics that align with business strategies. The VP will work closely with Product Management and Finance to drive business growth, product strategies and support Meitheal‘s financial goals. In addition, the VP will be the primary cross-functional liaison responsible for obtaining the product COGS optimization. This includes monitoring product profitability, developing recommendations and strategies regarding price and costs to maximize profitability. The VP will oversee the pricing activities between Contract Marketing, Product Management, Finance and National Accounts/Trade/Sales, the implementation and maintenance of direct and National/Regional Account RFPs/bids, contracts, pricing agreements and contract analysis as well as the feedback from the various team members where needed. The VP will foster and ensure alignment on the execution of tasks required for successful commercial strategic plans including the launch of new product to wholesalers and databanks as well as supporting cross-functional efforts to coordinate all pricing activities for current/new products and contracting deliverables based on strategy, target sales/volume and profit objectives.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

· Manages the development and implementation of pricing and contracting strategies, programs and deliverables to meet budget and market share goals. 

· Attends the weekly Price Review Committee (PRC) meeting and provides oversight of the necessary price and financial analytics to drive discussion and decision making.

· Works with team members to assist with the monitoring of Meitheal’s pricing intelligence and development process. 

· Provides feedback on the pricing analysis and guidance for the implementation of National Accounts, Trade and Field Sales contracts.

· Oversees and reviews the development and recommendation of Wholesaler Acquisition Cost (“WAC”) for new product launches, as well as the semi-annual review of WACs for Meitheal’s product portfolio. 

· Provides review of Tableau data analysis system which includes developing new tools to better analyze sales data and make future market predictions using our Tableau sales reporting tool.

· Responsible for communicating and maintaining Meitheal’s product cost of goods repository to be utilized in all product pricing analyses. 

· Evaluates product profitability and working cross-functionally with Operations and Manufacturing to identify opportunities for cost optimization improvements.

· Manages the collaboration cross-functionally to assist in the launching of new products with primary focus on developing initial contract pricing suggestions.

· Provide support related to Medicare/Medicaid pricing and rebate calculations and payments as well as Federal Government pricing for contracts/Agreements to maintain compliance with all federal regulations.

· Participate in the coordination of the quarterly review and approval of 340B and Federal Government calculations and pricing as well as serving as the lead for the contract administration activities for Federal Supply Schedule solicitation/contract.

· Review and provide guidance on the preparation of RFP/bid responses in collaboration with National Accounts/Trade/Sales.

· Oversees CRM (Veeva) application management of Customer Master Data, Sales Targeting/Performance, Customer Feedback and Opportunity Reporting

· Responsible for territory analysis, account alignment supporting territory optimization and performance management

· Evaluates and manages quota setting and incentive reporting for various sales teams

This position manages all employees of the Pricing department and is responsible for the performance management and hiring of the employees with that department.

Education and/or Experience: 

Required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in business-related discipline.
  • 15+ years of increasing responsibility and experience in the pharmaceutical industry.
  • 5+ years of pharmaceutical sales and/or commercial pharmaceutical contracting experience.
  • Possesses knowledge of business, financial, legal and commercial contract processes and requirements.
  • Working knowledge of the pharmaceutical landscape including, but not limited to: Wholesalers, GPO, IDN’s & Federal Government.


Preferred:

Basic knowledge of Tableau and EDI transactions.


Travel

Up to 10% domestic and/or international travel.


Computer skills

  • MS Office proficiency (Word, PowerPoint)
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Excel
