Multnomah County's Division of Facilities and Property Management is seeking an experienced Dispatcher to manage a variety of scheduling tasks and provide a wide range of information to internal and external stakeholders. The Dispatch Unit is a 24/7/365 operation, and dispatchers are designated as operationally essential and are required to report for duty regardless of facility closure or curtailment of some or all County operations.
Applicants must have reliable transportation, be willing and able to work a variety of shifts, weekends and holidays.

As a Dispatcher you will:
Receive and prioritize all FPM related phone calls, radio calls, written or intranet generated maintenance requests concerning problems in County owned/leased buildings and report information such as nature of problem, location and other necessary information.
Establish initial prioritization and scheduling by ascertaining the severity of the call to coordinate work schedules for vendors and trades.
Communicate with trades, Property Managers, Project Managers, and contractors via email; Google documents, calendars and spreadsheets; and phone calls and text messages for scheduled and/or emergency work assignments.
Determine types or amounts of equipment, materials or personnel required according to work order specifications; write equipment and building maintenance plans.
Develop, maintain, and provide a variety of executive level reports to leadership from our Asset Management System.
Actively engage in process improvement for better work order management, emergency response, Dispatch procedures, & information gathering.
Monitor trades personnel locations and activities to coordinate services and schedules and to ensure timely and efficient service delivery.
Generate, review, and track computer-based (Tririga) work orders to track work from initial receipt to closure to ensure completion and accurate historical recording.
Monitor and respond to a high volume of phone calls and electronic maintenance service requests
Provide counter-service to all internal clients
Prepare daily/weekly/monthly work schedules for assigned trades and coordinate schedules and events using Google documents and calendars.
Operate two-way GPS radio and tracking system, computers and other equipment; perform miscellaneous clerical tasks such as creating forms, filing, and compiling data.
Support tracking of assets, inventory, and processing of background checks.
To Qualify

Minimum Qualifications/Transferable Skills:
Equivalent to completion of the twelfth grade, AND
At least 3 years experience working in customer service that requires the use of computer based support systems.
At least 1 year experience in building maintenance/property management or equivalent related experience.
Ability and willingness to work a variety of shifts, including days, nights, weekends and holidays
Working knowledge of Google documents, calendaring and Excel
All finalists must pass a criminal records check and professional reference check.
Preferred Qualifications/Transferable Skills: You do not need to have the following preferred qualifications/transferable skills to qualify. However, keep in mind we may consider some or all of the following when identifying the most qualified candidates. Please clearly explain on your application how you meet any of the following preferred qualifications/transferable skills.
Experience and/or training in a computer-based work order management system, preferably Tririga
Emergency response coordination and preparedness especially related to building systems.

Telework: This position is designated for a “hybrid” work schedule, meaning you will be working remotely part of the time and onsite at other times.
