About the role
The Chronosphere Telemetry Pipeline product enables our customers to emit, augment, filter, route, and transform the flood of observability and SIEM data generated by their ever expanding applications and systems, allowing them to to sanely organize and easily access that data. We are looking for an experienced engineer who has worked on large scale distributed systems and has a proven track record of solving complex technical problems and is looking to work on a product development team.
You Will
Design, implement, and ship improvements to our core product capabilities in Go on Kubernetes/AWS/GCP
Own and deliver complex features that solve customer pain points and collaborate with cross functional partners throughout this process
Uphold and level up the reliability and software quality practices within the team through direct mentorship and shaping investments on our team roadmap
Collaborate and shape our the architectural / technical roadmap
What you will achieve
In the first 3 months, you will build a deep understanding of Chronosphere’s Telemetry Pipelines product and learn about the domain, our customer’s needs, the underlying technology and how we deliver changes. You will start to contribute changes to our product in a manner that enables you to learn quickly. You will build relationships by working closely with your team.
After 3 months, you will own complex features on our roadmap from scoping all the way to delivery to production. You will partner with product, design and other engineers, as need be. to deliver these projects. You will start to build relationships across teams. You will contribute to upholding and improving best practices on the team.
You have
A proven track record on how to build high quality highly scalable systems and experience with building sophisticated application services
Strong skills in a system level language(s). Go, C++, Java, C#, or Rust. Knowing a specific language isn’t important; what matters is that you’ve become fluent in one by spending a lot of time in the types of projects where these languages are used
Experience working with databases e.g. Postgres, InfluxDB
The ability to independently own projects from inception to delivery (i.e. plan and gather requirements, collaborate with Product)
An excitement for working on a product engineering team building and further our product development that creates tangible and direct customer value
A passion for growing and up-leveling your peers, and have pre-existing mentoring experience and a nuanced view around how to help junior engineers grow
