We have an exciting opportunity for a Private Client Strategist position! This individual will facilitate coordination with all Wealth Strategists according to HNW and UHNW clients’ needs and objectives, to assist Financial Advisors and their HNW clients with the development of comprehensive complex financial plans and analysis tailored to meet the clients’ needs. Additionally, the role will support the Financial Advisor in financial planning presentations and review meetings as requested and provide expertise and assistance regarding complex estate and tax laws as questions arise.

The total compensation target for this role is $140,000.00 - $225,000.00.

Primary Job Functions

Create complex and customized comprehensive financial plans for presentation and delivery to HNW and UHNW clients, which may include the following:

  • Organize client’s personal and information in a way that provides for easy analysis for all Wealth Strategists involved in a case

  • Review and summarize client goals and/or planning needs.

  • Review and summarize an accurate summary of clients’ current financial position.

  • Review and summarize wills, powers of attorney, and other legal documents to determine if updating is appropriate.

  • Review tax returns to determine if all appropriate tax savings strategies are being utilized.

  • Review other client needs, including alternative investments, insurance and risk management, protection strategies, charitable giving, trusts, distribution of the estate, business owner services, etc.

  • Discuss findings and coordinate specific recommendations with the Financial Advisor, Wealth Strategists, and clients.

  • Incorporate analyses and recommendations into a Financial Plan for the client

Facilitate and collaborate with other Wealth Strategists (Advanced Planning, Tax & Consulting Services, Trust & Estate, Portfolio Consulting, Insurance, etc.) to provide exceptional advice and premier frictionless service to Advisors and their HNW clients.

Participate in Financial Plan presentations and reviews as necessary to present planning concepts and analyses to the HNW and UHNW client.

Coordinate with Advisor regarding next steps to take for the client until all planning needs have been addressed.

Provide technical planning expertise and support

  • Support Financial Advisors with technical and complex planning and research to answer general questions from the Advisor community.

  • Assist in updating annual tax and estate planning resources as needed and inform the Advisor community of legislative changes as they happen.

Support team and company initiatives and participate in WEGs “all sharing” collaborative culture.

  • Participate in the planning and implementation of corporate/team initiatives

  • Attend and participate in Micro-Monday sessions and other company meetings

  • Provide timely responses to questions

  • Contribute positively to problem solving

  • Provide Training support to peers and new team members

Education/Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in business, finance, economics or related

  • Designations:

    • CFP – Required

    • JD or CPA – Preferred

    • Other related advanced designations (e.g. CFA, CTFA, CWS, MBT, LLM-Tax) is preferred but not required

  • FINRA Series 7 & 66 and Insurance (Life, Health and Variable)

  • 10+ years in Financial Services industry providing comprehensive and complex financial planning.

  • Technical competence in all areas of comprehensive financial planning

    • Preferred areas may include:

      • Interpreting complex estate documents

      • Business owner issues and taxation

      • Private Placement Life Insurance

      • Risk management and protection strategies for HNW and UHNW individuals

      • Grantor trusts

      • Irrevocable trusts

      • FLP/LLC planning

      • Powers of Appointment

      • Other advanced estate and tax strategies

    • Advanced Tax knowledge

      • Estate and gift taxes

      • Charitable strategies

      • Trust taxation

      • Gifting strategies

  • Exposure to registered investment advisory services

  • Superior verbal and written communication skills.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

  • Familiarity with Salesforce and Support Org functionality

  • Proficiently uses financial planning technology
