The role:

This role is based full-time in our Ottawa office.  

 

Key Responsibilities: 

Talent Acquisition: 

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive talent acquisition strategy to meet current and future staffing needs. 
  • Oversee the recruitment process, including sourcing, interviewing, and onboarding new employees 
  • Establish a comprehensive recruitment management system that uses data and analytics to understand and optimize workflows 
  • Continually evolve assessment methods to ensure optimal opportunity for long term employee success 

Talent Development: 

  • Design and implement employee development programs, including training, mentoring, and career progression pathways. 
  • Assess organizational learning needs and create tailored development initiatives to enhance employee skills and capabilities. 
  • Foster a culture of continuous learning and professional growth. 

Performance Management: 

  • Oversee the performance management process, ensuring that it aligns with company goals and promotes a high-performance culture. 
  • Implement feedback mechanisms to support employee engagement and professional development. 

Employee Engagement and Retention: 

  • Develop strategies to enhance employee engagement and retention, focusing on creating a positive work environment. 
  • Conduct regular employee surveys and analyze feedback to inform talent management initiatives. 
  • Implement programs that promote work-life balance, diversity, equity, and inclusion within the workforce. 

Strategic Leadership: 

  • Partner with executive leadership to align talent management strategies with business objectives and drive organizational success. 

What you bring: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred. 
  • Minimum of 10-15 years of experience in talent management with a focus on leadership roles. 
  • Experience in the software or technology sector, preferably within the public safety industry. 
  • Proven track record of developing and implementing successful talent management programs and strategies. 
  • Strong knowledge of performance management systems, employee development programs, and recruitment best practices. 
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills, with a demonstrated ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels. 
  • Extensive experience with HR technology and data & analytics to inform talent management decisions and support organizational storytelling.
