A Brief Overview
The Manager, Value Based Performance is responsible for the evaluating new value-based opportunities, monitoring the performance in existing value-based arrangements and enhancing Stanford's analytical tools around the value-based performance levers across the enterprise. They will work closely with clinical, operational, and analytical stakeholders throughout the organization to help inform the highest opportunities for value-based performance optimization. This role will report to the Director, Value Based Contracting.

What you will do
Performance Management
Become a subject matter expert to the organization on value-based economic and financial models, assessing the impact of contract terms and provisions on strategic and operational planning. Key responsibilities include:
Maintain Value Based Contract Performance Financial Models to project contract performance, highlight the impact of key terms within the contract, and conduct scenario modeling of potential changes to the terms of the agreement
Facilitate the collection, review and presentation of value-based contract performance data for the accountable care Joint Operating Committee (JOC) meetings, Board/Leadership meetings and ad hoc as necessary to promote new clinical strategies or value-based incentive opportunities
Collaborate with analytics to enhance our internal dashboards to derive areas of high opportunity efficiently and effectively in our value-based contracts
Collaborate with operation and clinical team members to inform optimal interventions based on expertise of financial impact of key performance drivers and operational feasibility of the interventions
Coordinate the exchange of value-based performance data files including claims files, membership files and settlement reporting via the CMS and Managed Care portals (when applicable)
Support vendor partnerships regarding value-based performance levers, performance projections and clinical analytics
New Opportunity Evaluation
Support the preparation, review, and presentation of value-based contracting opportunities for the enterprise. Key responsibilities include:
Review CMS policy changes and their impact to the enterprise-wise value-based footprint.
Design Value Based Contract Performance Financial Models for new value-based programs/contracts to gain shared understanding of the key economic levers and help communicate the parameters of the program across the enterprise
Centralize requirements for hospital related Managed Care quality programs, CMS hospital-based programs, and Center of Excellence requirements
As necessary, assist the Managed Care team in understanding optimal economic terms in the value-based contract negotiation/renewal process
Explore value-based opportunity with Medi-Cal managed care organizations
Education Qualifications
Experience Qualifications
Have an understanding of, and develop expertise in, all value-based payment models across all lines-of-business including commercial, Medi-Cal, and Medicare as well as Direct-to-Employer and ASO/Self Insured lines of business
Strong critical thinking skills, including the ability to simplify complex strategic and financial concepts for a variety of audiences
Advanced leadership and communication skills to effectively operate in the complex, matrixed environment of an academic health system
Appreciation of cultural diversity and sensitivity towards target population.
Excellent presentation skills for both clinical and non-clinical audiences.
High degree of initiative, professionalism, judgement and discretion

Base Pay Scale: Generally starting at $64.58 - $85.57 per hour
The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training. This pay scale is not a promise of a particular wage.
