We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Business Development Director to join our team. This role is critical to driving new business opportunities, gaining market share, and building revenue generation, from the ground up. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in sales and business development within the healthcare staffing industry, specifically in locum tenens or workforce solutions, with a focus on achieving ambitious growth targets.
- Identify, prospect, and secure new business opportunities to achieve sales targets and expand market share with the locum tenens sector.
- In coordination with Management team, oversee the short and long-term sales and marketing planning. Update and monitor the feasibility of strategic plans on an on-going basis.
- Conduct research and analyze market conditions, customer needs, and competitive landscapes to inform strategic decision making.
- Develop and execute business development strategies to drive business growth and market penetration.
- Cultivate and map out relationships with key stakeholders, including potential clients, partners, and industry leaders, that are critical to business expansion.
- Attend and represent the company at conferences, tradeshows, and industry events to network, promote services, and stay ahead of market trends.
- Lead the preparation and completion of Requests for Proposals (RFPs), Requests for Information (RFIs), and other documentation required to secure new business opportunities and partnerships.
- Negotiate and close high-value deals with clients, ensuring alignment with revenue goals and company objectives.
- Collaborate with internal teams, including operations, marketing, and legal, to ensure seamless execution of business growth initiatives.
- Monitor and analyze market trends, competitor activities, and industry developments to proactively identify opportunities for growth and innovation.
- Prepare and deliver compelling presentations and proposals to prospective clients, effectively communicating the value proposition of our services.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration or related field
- Proven successful track record of 5+ years in business development sales within the workforce solutions or locum tenens industry.
- Demonstrated success in driving new business growth and achieving sales targets.
- Experience working in a startup environment or with early-stage companies is a plus.
- Ability to travel as required to attend conferences, tradeshows, and prospective client meetings.

- Working knowledge of MSP and VMS operations.

Supervisory & Budgetary Responsibility
- No direct reports
- May act as mentor or subject matter expert
- Requires intermediate awareness of budget processes and financial acumen
Working Conditions and Travel Requirements:
- May require overnight or out of office travel up to 25% of time, with potential increase to 40% during peak conference seasons in the spring and fall.
- Typical office environment – sedentary with typing, writing, reading requirements
- Speaking, reading, writing and ability to use a telephone and computer
- Ability to interpret various instructions with minimum assistance
