Job Title: Remote Senior Accountant
Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Accountant with a strong background in accounting practices. The ideal candidate will have over 5 years of accounting experience and be proficient in month-end close, journal entries, and balance sheet reconciliations. Must have experience with Sage. This position is fully remote.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and analyze financial statements, ensuring compliance with GAAP
- Participate in the month-end and year-end close processes
- Participate in the preparation of consolidated financial statements
- Monitor general ledger accounts and perform reconciliations
- Prepare inter-company reconciliations
- Coordinate and prepare internal and external financial reports
- Support budgeting and forecasting activities
- Ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting policies
- Participate in the audit/tax prep process and liaise with external auditors
- Identify process improvements and implement best practices
- Provide financial analysis to support management decisions
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address financial issues
- Participate in system implementations and upgrades as needed
- Assist CFO and Controller with ad hoc reporting and projects
Skills & Requirements
Education / Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
- CPA license preferred
- Required - 2+ years’ experience of public accounting in a national CPA firm, Big 4 preferred
- Required - 4+ years’ experience of corporate accounting and general ledger, Start-ups preferred
- Advanced understanding of GAAP
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
- Proficiency in accounting ERP systems, i.e. Sage Intacct, QuickBooks, NetSuite and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Office and other technology systems
- Proficient in Excel
