About the Role:
As the Director of Technology Architecture within FIS Retirement, you will lead multiple teams of architects responsible for driving enterprise transformation and supporting large-scale client implementations. This role demands an exceptional blend of technical expertise, leadership, and client-facing capabilities to influence and deliver end-to-end architecture solutions that advance our strategic roadmap. You will work closely with senior stakeholders across Business, Product, Technology, and Operations, as well as FIS clients, to architect solutions that meet complex enterprise needs and support FIS’s mission in retirement services.

What you will do:

  • Lead and Manage Teams: Oversee multiple teams of solution architects, fostering a culture of technical excellence and strategic alignment. Mentor, guide, and allocate resources across projects to meet business objectives and client needs.

  • Client-Facing Engagement: Act as a senior technical advisor and client-facing leader, collaborating with client stakeholders to design and implement customized solutions that support enterprise transformation and the scalability of FIS Retirement products.

  • Drive Enterprise Architecture Strategy: Shape the architectural direction of FIS Retirement, ensuring that solutions are robust, scalable, and aligned with the company’s enterprise transformation goals.

  • Ensure Architecture Excellence: Develop end-to-end solutions for critical business initiatives, including cloud migration, modernization of legacy systems, and complex integrations.

  • Collaborate on Product Enhancements: Partner with Product teams to influence future product direction and contribute architectural guidance that enhances product capabilities and accelerates technical enablement.

  • Strategic Decision-Making: Evaluate architectural options (Build vs. Buy vs. Partner), assess technical debt, and identify opportunities for innovation within the technical landscape.

  • Maintain Standards and Compliance: Adhere to FIS solution architecture delivery processes, ensuring all architectural designs meet regulatory, security, and compliance requirements.

  • Continuous Improvement: Implement a roadmap of continuous improvements, upgrading technology, optimizing processes, and adopting new methodologies to support evolving enterprise needs.

What you bring:

  • Technical Leadership: Extensive experience managing architecture in a large, enterprise environment, with a proven record of successfully overseeing multiple technical teams.

  • Client-Facing Expertise: Skilled in client interactions, able to present complex technical solutions in a way that aligns with business priorities and addresses client needs.

  • Deep Technical Knowledge: Expertise across key technology domains, including Applications, Data, Infrastructure, Operations, and Security, with a focus on large-scale enterprise transformation.

  • Enterprise Architecture Proficiency: Broad understanding of enterprise architecture frameworks with experience in architecting solutions that align with business goals and technical standards.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience in Scaled Agile (SAFe): Knowledge of Agile methodologies within a scaled environment, especially in coordinating architecture across multiple teams.

  • Workshop Facilitation and Cross-Functional Collaboration: Skilled in guiding workshops and aligning cross-functional stakeholders, ensuring buy-in and architectural alignment.

  • Financial Acumen: Familiarity with financial modeling and IT Finance, understanding the impact of architectural decisions on budget and resource allocation.

  • Strategic and Analytical Mindset: Ability to evaluate complex issues, provide strategic direction, and implement practical solutions aligned with business and technical goals.

  • Strong Communication Skills: Able to present to large groups and communicate effectively with executives, clients, and technical teams.

  • Organizational Agility: Skilled at managing multiple initiatives
