THE ROLE
We are seeking a talented and experienced FinOps, Senior Manager Consultant to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in finance operations and cloud computing with a focus on optimizing costs and improving financial efficiency within cloud environments. As a FinOps, Senior Manager Consultant you will work closely with clients to analyze their cloud spending identify areas for optimization and implement strategies to achieve cost savings while maintaining operational excellence.
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of clients' cloud spending patterns and cost structures.
- Develop and implement FinOps strategies to optimize cloud spending, including budgeting, forecasting, and cost allocation methodologies.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements.
- Analyze billing data and usage metrics to identify trends, anomalies, and areas for optimization.
- Provide recommendations and guidance to clients on best practices for cost management and optimization.
- Develop and maintain financial models and forecasts to track cloud spending and cost-saving initiatives.
- Work with cloud service providers to leverage cost management tools and negotiate favorable pricing agreements.
- Provide training and support to client teams on FinOps principles and best practices.
- Stay current on industry trends, tools, and technologies related to cloud cost management and FinOps practices.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance FinOps processes and methodologies.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field. Advanced degree or certification (e.g., MBA, CPA, CFA) is a plus.
- Proven experience in financial analysis, budgeting, and cost management, preferably in a cloud computing environment.
- Strong understanding of cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform, including their pricing models and services.
- Experience with FinOps frameworks and methodologies, such as the Cloud Financial Management Framework (CFMF) or the FinOps Foundation's Six Core Principles.
- Proficiency in data analysis tools and techniques, with experience using tools like Excel, SQL, or cloud-native analytics platforms.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with clients and internal stakeholders.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think strategically about complex financial and operational challenges.
- Self-motivated and proactive, with a passion for driving results and delivering value to clients.
- Ability to adapt to a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Experience working in a consulting or advisory role is preferred
FinOps Certifications
- FinOps certification (e.g. FinOps Certified Practitioner – FOCP) or comparable a plus
- Candidates will be required to certify in FinOps related certifications and badges within a reasonable time after hiring.
WORK AUTHORIZATION

Salary And Compensation
Applications will be accepted until 1.7.2025
The annual salary for this position is between
$122,400 – $194,000 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate. This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
