Summary:
The SAP Solution Architect will be primarily responsible to support the team in translating the business problem into a functional & technical architecture within our S/4 landscape that balances the effective business enablement with the sustainability of the S/4 landscape. Our SAP landscape is based on SAP’s S/4 ecosystem (S/4, Hana, BTP, SAC, B/4 HANA) and includes other SAP systems (e.g. Ariba, Hybris, SuccessFactors, HR Payroll, and more) while integrating with a wide variety of non-SAP systems. This landscape supports most of our businesses around the globe and integrates with local systems as needed.
The SAP Solution Architect is responsible to support the solutioning process and develop the architectural design for business solutions within their area of SAP. The SAP Solution Architect will closely collaborate with the respective Product Owners, Business Stakeholders, Solution Managers, Functional and Technical Teams, IT Development and Operations Team, Enterprise Architecture Team, and 3rd parties.
Major Duties/Responsibilities:
- In collaboration with the respective Business Stakeholders and IS Solution Managers develop, enhance, and advance the Business Architecture (functional and process architecture) to drive the desired business outcome while ensuring the underlying technical solution/architecture is feasible and stays within the required technical guidelines (e.g., no core customization in S/4).
- Based on the Business Architecture develop, enhance, and advance in close collaboration with the IS Solution Managers, IS Security Team, and IS Integration team the technical, integration, and security architecture.
- Ensure that the resulting architecture is a) in line with the EA standards & guidelines, b) enable the desired business outcome, and c) ensures that the resulting landscape can be effectively maintained, supported, and sustained – including future upgradability in an efficient manner.
- Ensure all relevant architecture artifacts are properly created, documented, and maintained.
- Gain required approvals for the resulting architectures.
- Support the Solution and Support team in resolving technical or business process defects/deficiencies.
- In close collaboration with the IS Solution Teams and 3rd parties ensure that the implemented solution is in line with the agreed solution architecture.
- Assess business impact on any technical change within the SAP Landscape and communicate appropriately to the respective stakeholders.
- Support the assessment of initiatives within the SAP Landscape.
- Support EA in developing and documenting the required architecture assets within the S/4 space.
- Contribute to EA governance by participation in review boards and working committees as requested.
- Mentor / guide development teams.
- Create architectural artifacts and manage them on an on-going basis.
Other Duties:
- Collaborate with business/process owners and IS solution teams (functional, technical, development) to successfully develop and improve IT solutions within the SAP landscape, integrate other solutions with the SAP landscape, maintain/sustain/support our SAP landscape.
- Collaborate with Senior Solution Architect and IS functional & technical teams to drive & enable innovation within the SAP landscape that aligns with HSY’s business or IS strategy.
- Support the planning process for solutions that impact the SAP landscape.
- Collaborate with Enterprise Architecture for architecture asset creation/sustainment.
- Interface with (but not limited to) Solution Managers, PMO, Enterprise Architects, IS technical and functional teams, subject matter experts, business process/functional owners.
Experience:
- 7-10 years of total experience in Information Technology preferably within software development
- At least 3-5 years of experience with SAP – preferable S/4 and/or BTP
- At least 3-5 years of experience with packaged software and design patterns related to extending/customizing/enhancing
- At least 3 years of experience in solution architecture and design
- At least 3 years of experience in integrations based on API and micro-services
- At least 1-3 years of experience working with cloud platforms
- Ideally multiple years of CPG experience – ideally in the food industry
- Working knowledge of SDLC methodologies
- Knowledge of architectural frameworks and standards like TOGAF
- Advanced understanding of business analysis techniques and processes
- Understanding of IT security, infrastructure, and data analytics
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related field
- Master’s degree a plus
- SAFe Agile certification a plus
- SAP Solution Architecture certifications a plus
