Job description

Responsibilities:

  • Meet Billable Hour Requirements: Consistently achieve a minimum billing requirement of 1600 hours per year.
  • Client Representation: Provide comprehensive legal representation for clients in family law cases, including court appearances, hearings, and trials.
  • Case Management: Effectively manage and oversee all legal aspects of family law cases, from initial consultation to resolution.
  • Legal Guidance: Offer sound legal advice to clients and staff on family law matters and relevant legal interpretations.
  • Collaboration: Interact and collaborate with various stakeholders, including caseworkers, supervisors, program directors, and program administrators.
  • Mediation and Negotiation: Skillfully conduct mediation sessions and provide effective legal counsel to facilitate amicable resolutions.
  • Documentation: Meticulously prepare and organize all necessary legal documents for case filings.
  • Client Communication: Maintain regular and transparent communication with clients, keeping them informed about their case progress.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: 4+ years of proven experience in family law, with a strong emphasis on litigation, courtroom proceedings, trial advocacy, and client interaction.
  • Bar Admission: Active member in good standing with the Maryland State Bar Association, with no disciplinary actions.
  • Legal Expertise: In-depth knowledge of Maryland family law processes and procedures.
  • Technical Proficiency: Proficient in MS Office Suite, file-sharing software, legal research tools, and case management software.
  • Time Management: Excellent time management skills, including the ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and manage multiple cases effectively.
  • Attention to Detail: Impeccable attention to detail and accuracy in all legal work.
