Job Overview
Under general supervision of the Associate Director of Marketing & Publications, this position will play a crucial role in managing and enhancing the online presence of the college. The web communications manager is the custodian of our website’s overall health and performance. They ensure that our site is always up-to-date, secure, and running smoothly, providing a seamless experience for users and maintaining the site's integrity.
This role is responsible for auditing, reconciling and managing the web presence and initiatives for the College of Education, Criminal Justice, Human Services, and Information Technology (CECH). May manage the intranet presence and initiatives for CECH.
This position will offer flexibility for hybrid remote work and/or remote work for applicants with a residence within the Cincinnati/Tri-State Area (OH/IN/KY). Hybrid/remote work arrangements are subject to change in accordance with university policies.

Essential Functions
- Lead redesign and build process in partnership with schools, centers and other units across the college; determine and develop the overall college/unit website strategy to meet the college’s communication and business goals.
- Enforce the university’s web style guide, and advocate for the CMS.
- Assist with the development of content for primary to tertiary level web pages for the college. Apply consistent web standards and guidelines for style, content, and code consistent with university computer use policies, and relevant regulatory requirements. Ensure regular and on-demand updates of web content and design using web analytics tools and search engine optimization.
- Collaborate with university communicators on related projects or development of sites, including information architecture, design, and content and web branding standards and policies.
- Partner with IT@UC to determine solutions for technical and communications issues and projects.
- Work closely with university’s technical support team to ensure accessibility, functionality and performance of university’s digital platforms, specifically ensuring compliance with sections 504 and 508 of the Americans with Disabilities Act.
- May lead accessibility for intranet and partner with Accessibility Network to provide colleges and units resources needed; may assist with management of annual audit of intranet content.
- Implement audit findings via reorganization of the CECH website architecture, including structure, content, pages, roadmap and navigation, to improve and optimize user experience for students, parents, organizational stakeholders and general audiences.
- Intake, strategize and implement change requests, submitted via support tickets by college representatives, for regular and ongoing management of website content contained on cech.uc.edu and all affiliated pages.
- Work as a member of the CECH marketing team to determine voice, accuracy and other communication elements to ensure the website effectively serves as the college’s primary marketing tool; develop the overall web strategy to meet the unit’s communication goals.
- Manage pages in eCurriculum – the university’s tool that houses information about all academic programs, admissions requirements, and curriculum.

Required Education
- Bachelor’s Degree should be in a relevant field.
- Seven (7) years of relevant work experience and/or other specialized training can be used in lieu of education requirement.
Required Experience
