In this role, you will support a litigation law firm team, assisting them with various tasks including client intake, legal research, case discovery, legal writing, client liaison, court filings, and legal document preparation. You will join a successful law firm in the US and be assigned to work on personal injury and criminal cases. You'll be working 50 hrs/week during American business hours and get paid weekly.
Requirements and Responsibilities:
« Case management through all stages of litigation, up to and including mediation, settlement, and trial
« Calendar management, including managing attorney calendar, calendaring deadlines, statutes, coordinating and scheduling depositions, mediations, hearings, and other appearances
« Experience in filing and e-filing in State, Appellate, and Federal Courts· Experience in propounding and responding to discovery· Experience drafting pleadings, motions, correspondence, memoranda, notices, and other legal documents
« Experience in case management database(s) and documenting all actions related to case activity
« Provide excellent customer service while speaking to clients including frequent verbal and written case related updates
« Provide accurate translation between attorney and clients
Qualification & Experience Requirements
« Experience in criminal law is a must
« Experience in personal injury is a plus
« Fluent in advanced American English, written and oral
« Bachelor's degree in Law or/and a Juris Doctor degree
« Experience in conducting legal intakes, managing calendars, and scheduling appointments.
« Experience working as a paralegal to a law firm for 2+ years
« Experience in legal research, case discovery, and legal writing
« Experience using legal software like Clio, LexisNexis, MyCase
« Excellent personal presentation and telephone manner
