Job Description

General Summary

Work with internal and external stakeholders and source system owners to identify and analyze requirements and develop business intelligence and reporting solutions. Contribute to the design, development, testing, documentation, and maintenance of analytic solutions and reporting. Support key strategic organizational priorities, including labor management, financial and operational performance. Accountable for system maintenance and functionality for assigned applications and reporting functions. Work is performed under general direction.

Principal Responsibilities and Tasks

  • · Ownership of data quality and reporting to include ensuring, improvement and overall data quality and system utilization through auditing, evaluation and testing of data and software.
  • · Ownership and development of routine and complex data audits, reporting and data availability, upgrades and data distribution for assigned applications and reports.
  • · Develop dynamic data reporting and visualization analytics to create actionable data utilized for system-wide analytics and decision making.
  • · Work closely with end users, source data owners and customers to provide support, education and development of the performance analytics applications.
  • · Oversee system upgrades and testing to ensure data integrity and functionality for assigned systems and applications.
  • · Leads Serve as member of cross-functional governance teams to understand and interpret stakeholder needs for reporting design and development
  • · Provide guidance to stakeholders regarding source data, system design and data interpretation and utilization for assigned systems and applications..
  • · Develop work plans, data flow diagrams, audit procedures and risk assessment to support data development and distribution.
  • · Develop reporting and data architecture to ensure result meets end user needs. Provide end user training and data interpretation as needed,
  • · Develop medium to complex reports, visualizations and applications using a variety of tools including SQL, Cognos, Crystal, Tableau, HPM Explorer, etc.
  • · Perform medium to complex data queries and mapping required to develop data analytics to meet end user needs.
  • · Understand data modeling and relational database concepts, mapping requirements, tables and table maintenance.

  • · Write, validate, and execute test plans for solutions, applications, and interactive reporting to ensure the availability of quality data.
  • · Participate in strategic planning for improvements and management of assigned reports and applications.
  • · Investigate errors, troubleshoot and correct all interfaces, data loads and reporting.
  • · Develop strategies and new reporting opportunities associated with the data and/or software to improve the downstream analyses performed by end users.
  • · Collaborate with external source data owners to develop and manage data feeds and interfaces as needed to develop and enhance reporting.
  • · Ensure end user awareness of and promote utilization of data tools.
  • · Establish, communicate and track deadlines and workflows required to complete development and availability of assigned data and reporting.
  • · Continuously evaluate opportunities for improvement based on new technology and trends in the industry.
  • · Develop training and education materials, technical guides, workshops, and deliver end user training to educate staff regarding applications to ensure data is understood by end users.
  • · Serve as source data system (EPIC, Infor (materials, workforce and GL), HPM, etc.) content expert. Serve as primary liaison between source systems owners and end users; interpret and implement data and reporting.
  • · Prepare ad hoc reports and conduct feasibility studies to determine the appropriate solutions for proposed requirements to ensure maximum utilization of available resources.
  • · Develop and maintain data dictionaries, reporting and data inventory and presentation materials for internal and external stakeholders.
  • · Provide customer support to end users and manage and assist with prioritization of new data and support requests.
  • · Conduct and/or participate in-service and external educational programs for professional development. Orient, and transfer knowledge to peers and junior staff.
  • · Mentor and provide guidance to members of the data integrity and development teams.
  • · Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field, or the equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • 5+ years’ experience in systems design, analysis and programming in a technical and/or business environment. required.
  • 3+ years’ experience in business intelligence and/or statistical analysis reporting and development required.
  • 3+ years’ experience with programming/analytical tools (e.g., Tableau, Cognos, SQL, etc.).
  • 3+ years’ experience coaching, mentoring and training staff. 3 + years’ experience planning, coordinating and successfully designing system interfaces and/or end user reporting.
  • 3+ years’ experience in data design, management and programming required.
  • 3+ years’ experience in applications management/system administration required.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Advanced knowledge of various financial applications and their functionality.
  • Advanced skill with Visual Basic or equivalent SQL programming language.
  • Advanced skill using Power BI Dashboard or similar visualization platforms.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with internal and external data owners and developers to successfully develop reporting tools.
  • Advanced skill presenting findings, conclusions, alternatives and information clearly and concisely at all levels within the organization.
  • Advanced analytical, conceptual thinking, planning, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Advanced skill developing and maintaining collaborative working relationships with all levels of leadership, staff, and external partners.
  • Advanced skill managing multiple initiatives and meeting changing requirements and priorities to accomplish objectives.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform detailed tasks with a high degree of accuracy.
