Description

DeepCure is seeking an exceptional and highly motivated DMPK consultant to collaborate with our team of discovery and AI researchers. In this role, you will direct and manage all DMPK-related activities across the portfolio and work together with internal and external counterparts to drive the collaborative optimization of molecules from early discovery to clinical trials. This is an external, part time, consulting position, with a prospect to become a full time internal position in the future, and we are currently looking for the consultant to join us beginning of January 2025.

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications: 

  • Must be a passionate and self-motivated individual with exceptional internal drive to get things done in a fast-paced environment.
  • PhD in pharmaceutical sciences or related discipline with ≥ 7 years industry experience working within or leading a DMPK group in the biotech or pharmaceutical industry. At least part of the said experience, as a consultant/ external collaborator.
  • Expert knowledge and comprehensive understanding of DMPK, ADME, and pharmacology/safety and associated methods for assessment in the context of small molecule drugs.
  • Broad understanding of DMPK in drug discovery and development.
  • Meticulous organizational skills, exceptional project management and effective leadership skills.
  • Must be capable of clear and concise oral and written communication.

Hiring level commensurate with experience.

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Experience working with contract research organizations.
  • Proven experience in the design and establishment of DMPK wet labs.
  • Deep understanding of Met-ID.
  • Working knowledge of ADME and DMPK modeling tools is a plus.

Responsibilities

In this role you will:

  • Provide overall scientific leadership and domain expertise across internal teams and with external collaborators. 
  • Work closely with our Discovery team leadership, and chemistry and biology colleagues to support DeepCure’s drug discovery projects from lead optimization to candidate selection through the design, generation, analysis, and interpretation of internally and externally generated DMPK data.
  • Apply an expert understanding of DMPK and physico-chemical properties to assess drug-like properties of new chemical entities.
  • Work with CROs to contract, design and oversee the rapid execution of in vitro ADME and in vivo PK studies to enable advancement of compounds. Interpret, QC and communicate ADME and PK results back to team.
  • Model PK/PD/efficacy relationships to determine optimal preclinical dosing regimen and provide insight into clinical dosing strategies for both single agent and combination therapies.
  • Help establish candidate drug target profiles.
  • Develop IND-enabling preclinical DMPK plans and contribute to IND filings.
  • Direct the establishment of appropriate internal ADME capabilities to integrate into DeepCure’s automated wet-lab platform.
  • Work in close collaboration with Platform Research scientists on the development of internal predictive tools.
