Responsibilities 
 
Shamrock Trading Corporation and Ryan Transportation are seeking an experienced Senior Sales Director to partner with the Vice President of Sales in driving revenue and margin growth through effective sales strategies and team leadership. This role involves mentoring business development professionals, tracking key performance metrics, and fostering a high-performance culture focused on accountability and continuous growth. The ideal candidate will monitor sales performance, collaborate with cross-functional teams to support customer growth, and leverage innovative tools for enhanced engagement. 
  • Collaborate with VP Sales to Develop, implement, and oversee sales strategies to achieve revenue and margin targets 
  • Identify and prioritize key prospects, industrial sectors, and customer segments to maximize growth opportunities for new and mid-tier BDs
  • Drive 20% Year over year gross profit growth through your team
  • Direct members of the business development teams, setting clear goals, expectations, and performance metrics
  • Provide mentorship, training, and professional development opportunities to enhance the team’s effectiveness. Examples include developing future Enterprise (Large Account) Sales acumen and abilities
  • Engage underperforming BDs to assist with customer review, pipeline review, margin analysis, and growth recovery plans
  • Assist BDs with new prospecting engagement ideas and strategies for expanding customer base
  • Foster a high-performance culture focused on accountability, results, and continuous improvement
  • Monitor and report on sales performance, adjusting strategies as necessary to meet or exceed targets
  • Work closely with the brokerage operations, credit, legal and accounting teams to support prospect conversion and active customer growth
  • Collaborate with the VP of Sales and marketing team to develop and implement sales campaigns, promotional activities, and customer outreach initiatives
  • Engage with technology and innovation teams to leverage new tools and platforms that enhance sales and customer engagement
  • Assist BDs in identifying growth opportunities within existing customer base
  • Accompany BDs on customer / prospect visits and travel opportunities
  • Utilize transportation and logistics network to assist with Ryan Transportation growth across new companies
  • Track and report on sales GP figures, sales activities in CRM, margin trends, load count trends, and BD portfolio assessment
  • Ensuring compliance with BD activity and growth goal guidelines
  • Contribute to the development of sales forecasts and financial projections. 
Qualifications    
  • 5+ years of experience in brokerage B2B sales
  • 3+ years of experience in leading a successful sales team
  • Extensive transportation industry knowledge
  • Experience with sales processes, including CRM
  • Proven experience making cold calls to close new business
  • Demonstrated ability to further develop existing customer relationships
  • Effective verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Strong leadership qualities and team-player mentality
  • Self-motivated and driven to succeed with minimal supervision
  • 30% travel required
