Engineer II, Field Service

Are you an experienced Field Service Engineer who wants to work with brand new technology, where your work will help people lead healthier lives? Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc. is seeking a dedicated and ambitious Engineer II, Field Service to join our Southern Europe Field Service team in Spain. This outstanding opportunity allows you to work independently from a home office in Barcelona, supporting and maintaining our Indiko & Kryptor Analyzers. Join us to make a ground-breaking impact in the field of clinical diagnostics!

Responsibilities:

  • Work independently as part of a Field Service organization team to support Indiko & Kryptor Analyzers.
  • Perform service and support, including preventive maintenance, installation, hotline support, and troubleshooting.
  • Collaborate with Sales and Business Development teams to provide on-site support, demonstrations, and assist in sales visits when required.
  • Share experience and standard methodologies of product services and applications with colleagues to contribute to a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Communicate effectively with Hotline, Field Application Specialists, Support Specialists, Service Managers, Sales Representatives, and Sales Managers.
  • Actively participate in continuous improvement projects to improve work quality and efficiency.
  • Maintain a client-focused and customer-centric approach, aligning with company goals and objectives.
  • Accurately document field support activities, including qualification and service reports, expense reports, and timely submission through the required systems.

Requirements:

  • Work from a home office in Spain and travel around 70% of the time, mainly to customers from eastern Spain and occasionally Portugal, or other European countries.
  • Educational background within engineering (electrical or mechanical) or equivalent qualifications.
  • Solid working knowledge of analytical instrumentation and proven Field Service experience in installation, servicing, and troubleshooting.
