Kemin Animal Nutrition and Health Asia (“KAA”) is the Asia Pacific regional headquarters of Kemin Industries, Inc. based in Singapore. With a sales turnover of over US100 million, KAA operates in 15 markets comprising ASEAN, Australia, Japan, Korea, New Zealand and Taiwan. The Singapore regional headquarters house all the key functions of sales, marketing, human resource and finance. It is also the manufacturing and R&D powerhouse for all the 15 Asia Pacific markets. Technical Service is not only a core competency of the company but remains a clear differentiator to build the trust and confidence of KAA’s customers in the livestock industry, i.e. the integrators, commercial feed mills and farms.
Accountability
This position will be working remotely or based in Singapore (To relocate to Singapore if based out of Kemin APAC region), the Ruminant Technical Service Manager reports directly to the Ruminant General Manager. The incumbent is accountable for the overall achievement of KAA Ruminant in net sales and gross margin by exercising his responsibilities in the following areas:
- Implementing a comprehensive training program to enhance the technical competence and confidence of our sales team, with a focus on supporting the growth of our ruminant business through the initiation of an academic training initiative.
- Positioning Technical Support as a pivotal differentiator to cultivate trust and confidence among customers. This involves spearheading trials and establishing a robust ruminant program (3P Program – Pre partum, Partum, and Post-Partum) to effectively expand our market share within the ruminant product portfolio at Kemin.
- Elevating the Kemin® brand as a stalwart and innovative science-based company to instill trust and confidence in the marketplace. This includes actively supporting the ruminant sales team and collaborating with country heads to bring sales projects to fruition while upholding accountability.

Responsibilities:
TRAINING
- Design and implement a yearly training curriculum.
- Collaborate with IT to take advantage of digital technology in rolling-out the curriculum.
- Provide continuing training to the sales team which includes country heads, sales managers and in-country TSMs.
- Assess the technical competency of individual sales managers, track their progress with the monthly BD7 report and recommend remedial actions to the Ruminant General Manager.
- Collaborate with the Platform / Product Managers (PMs) and, if necessary, with the WW Technical / Product Managers, on the content of the training curriculum and align with the value propositions.
TECHNICAL SUPPORT
- Actively contribute to pivotal decisions surrounding strategic planning and go-to-market strategies, with a specific focus on product life cycle management, including both product development and marketing endeavors.
- Play an integral role in significant projects led by Customer Lab Support (CLS) to ensure seamless collaboration and successful outcomes.
- Undertake travel commitments to meet face-to-face with the Top 20 customers in the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region, addressing intricate technical issues and fostering strong client relationships.
- Collaborate closely with the Ruminant General Manager and Product Manager to drive the effective implementation of the Ruminant Strategic Plan.
- Infuse scientific rigor into various aspects, including a) refining marketing and commercial trial protocols before implementation; b) ensuring conclusive results in CLS analyses; c) validating in vitro and in vivo trial protocols proposed by R&D managers before implementation.
- Work in tandem with Marketing-approved key opinion leaders (KOLs) on well-defined projects aligned with the company's strategic objectives.
- Stay current with the latest technologies, both internally and externally, to maintain a comprehensive understanding of advancements in the field.
KEMIN BRAND
- Ensure a high standard of technical accuracy in all marketing collateral, including web contents.
- Secure an oral presentation at one Marketing-approved high-impact, scientific event, annually.
- Vet and edit the technical accuracy of all SDs, TDs, TLs, trade-magazine publications, abstracts, posters, and approve them before going to print or submission for WWCSTM (Ruminant General Manager will give the final sign-off on the relevance of the contents vis-à-vis the value propositions).
- Publish at least one article in a peer-reviewed scientific journal, annually, either as principal author or co- author.
Qualifications:
The incumbent must fulfill the following qualification and experience:
- Have at least 5 years of working experience in a technical and management capacity in livestock industry and a PhD in Ruminant, Animal Nutrition, Animal Health or related discipline.
- Demonstrate technical competency and commercial acumen
- Have a proven track record in consistently achieving financial targets.
- Have a high degree of personal motivation, a desire to make an immediate contribution and possess a distinct sense of urgency.
- Be confident, driven, dynamic, creative and a problem solver.
The Ruminant Technical Service Manager is involved in a range of products and has decision-making freedom within the area of responsibility. Together with the Ruminant General Manager, he/she will agree to focus on key platforms for the year, meaning that he/she will spend 75% of his time on these focused platforms agreed a priori. The incumbent is responsible to manage projects across functions professionally and timely.
Based at Kemin’s Asia Pacific regional headquarters in Singapore or remotely, the incumbent is required to have time flexibility and may require accomplishing additional work after the usual office hours. The incumbent will be expected to travel both regionally and internationally on a regular basis.
