Pay Range: $27.00 - $36.68 / hour plus $4.57 / hour (Health & Wellness bonus)

At the Naval Base Ventura County (NBVC), SA-TECH performs operational, intermediate, and depot-level maintenance for aerial and seaborne assets in support of weapon systems test and evaluation and fleet training exercises. We manage all stages of aerial and seaborne target assets’ operational progression from initial inspection and configuration through deployment, return and post-operation maintenance and repair. We provide management, scheduling and execution of aerial and seaborne target operations; operation and maintenance of target recovery vessels (Aerial Vehicle Recovery [AVRs]); asset maintenance and depot repair; depot engineering assistance; recovery of aerial and seaborne assets; inventory management; and management of Government-furnished facilities, materials, vehicles and equipment.


We are currently looking to hire an organized Administrative Assistant for our Purchasing Department based at Point Mugu, CA. This assistant will perform a variety of routine office administration and clerical activities, as well as the purchasing of required items under limited supervision. This position also involves managing financial data for the Program Manager and requires strong Excel skills.


The following functions are the basic duties of the position (although there may be additional duties assigned):

  • Maintain, update and manage sensitive documents via Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Research the Internet for hard-to-find items.
  • Request quotations via e-mail, phone or vendor website.
  • Prepare all Purchase Requests, Purchase Orders, Request for Payments and Sole Source Justifications on requested orders.
  • Prepare tax-exempt forms for vendors, as needed.
  • Respond to all e-mails received throughout day.
  • Track and confirm all incoming purchases.
  • Update the Project Transaction Report in Excel on a daily and bi-weekly basis.
  • Justify and reconcile all credit card charges.
  • Arrange travel, including flights, hotels and rental cars.
  • Arrange employee physicals (i.e. forklift, ordnance and respirator), as needed.
  • Prepare forms for new-hire CAC and SAAR-N requests.
  • Filing; maintain employee files.
  • Other duties as assigned by Program Manager.

Work Conditions:

  • Most work will be accomplished in a fast-paced office environment utilizing phone, fax, and desktop computer.
  • Ability to lift 30lbs. unassisted.
  • Position includes: 80% sitting, 5% reaching, 5% lifting, 5% walking and 5% standing.
  • No remote work available.
  • Office hours are from 6am-3:30pm.
Requirements

Education/Experience/Skills:

  • High School Diploma plus 2-3 years of relevant experience in an office environment.
  • In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong Excel skills.
  • Accuracy and confidentiality is required.
  • Must have the ability to multi-task and must have excellent writing, organizational and communication skills.
  • Current Driver’s License required; must be able to be insured through company’s vehicle insurance policy while driving work/government/rental vehicles during working hours, and for the duration of employment.
  • U.S. Citizenship required. 
  • You must have a U.S. DoD Secret Security Clearance prior to start date and maintain a Secret clearance throughout employment.
  • All candidates will be required to pass background screening to include SSN, Driver Record, and Criminal Background Investigation.
