Position Focus
HIV Prevention Trials Network (HPTN 096) is a community-randomized, controlled, hybrid Type III implementation effectiveness study focused on Black MSM in selected Ending the HIV Epidemic (EHE) communities in the US South. HPTN 096 is a four component, multi-level integrated strategy. The Interventionist facilitator will assist with the Culturally Responsive Intersectional Stigma Prevention (CRISP) competent of the project. It is an organizational-level intervention that will take place in healthcare facilities in the US South and is designed to optimize the healthcare environment for Black MSM by addressing the intersectional experience of racism, sexual stigma, gender nonconformity stigma, and HIV-related stigma through training, collaborative quality improvement and technical assistance.
The interventionist facilitator would be an integral part of the team, responsible for delivering the (CRISP) intervention component of large multisite randomized clinical trial sponsored by the Health Prevention Trial Network and the National Institute of Allergy & Infectious Diseases. CRISP is a multi-component intervention that will be delivered in healthcare facilities across cities in the southern United States region. The interventionist facilitators will prepare intervention delivery materials, facilitate the CRISP onsite and provide technical assistance to healthcare facilities that are implementing CRISP. This position will also work collaboratively with the quality improvement specialist and study team members to ensure alignment between the components of this intervention. The CRISP intervention facilitators will work as part of a team and will be cross trained on the other components of CRISP to be able to support implementation of other CRISP components as needed.
In addition to the Essential Duties listed below, this position will also:
- Preferred candidate will have extensive experience delivering full day trainings and HIV curriculum to clinical and non-clinical staff.
- Provide skill-building activities, whole-facility staff training, institutional policy development and capacity-building that improve HCF workers abilities to work with stigmatized groups.
- Facilitate conversations in healthcare facilities on topics that include anti-Black racism, sexual stigma, gender nonconformity stigma, HIV stigma, sociocultural assets of Black men who have sex with men, culturally responsive and accountable health care climates for Black men who have sex with men, and structural competency in HIV prevention and treatment services.
- Monitor the progress of the intervention action plans and will use a combination of evidence as well as their own expertise to provide guidance, training and direction to management and program staff to facilitate their efforts to reduce race and sexuality-based inequities in PrEP and HIV treatment outcomes.
- Position involves domestic travel up to 50% of the time to intervention communities (to deliver foundational trainings onsite to participating healthcare facilities).

Essential Duties
- Carries out research within the scope of the established study protocol. Adheres to all human subjects regulations as defined by Yale University and the federal government that pertain to research studies. 2. Develops criteria for admission of study subjects based on goals and objectives of project. 3. Determines potential sources of funding and prospective partnerships. 4. Evaluates feasibility of accepting potential projects through analysis of staffing needs, resource requirements, financial costs, and current planned capacity of group. Negotiates contracts and/or changes with funder. 5. Develops original HIC/IRB submissions. Based on knowledge of science and research goals, collaborates with PIs on major revisions and contributes to scientific protocols. Plans and implements changes. 6. Develops forms, questionnaires and the application of research techniques; writes procedures manuals for data collection and coding. 7. Responsible for the documentation and transmission of study data. Ensures that report forms are accurately documented and completed in a timely manner at each site location. 8. Works independently to develop manage and organize multi site studies. Serves as primary coordinator between University, non-Yale collaborators, pharmaceutical companies, HIC, IRB and funding sources. 9. Performs descriptive and multivariate statistical analyses of data, using computer software. 10. Designs and implements quality control measures to ensure accurate collection and processing of data. 11. Contributes in-depth, original thought and relevance to written reports and to the writing of abstracts and manuscripts.
Required Education And Experience
Master’s Degree in a related discipline and two years of experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Detail-oriented with the ability to manage time and organize competing priorities. Proven experience explaining advanced concepts in epidemiology. Comfort in discussing sexual behavior topics.
