Job Description

The incumbent will be responsible for the coordination and good administrative management of occupational health and safety files and disability files. He will also be the contact person for the various bodies and suppliers.

Responsibilities

  • Manage short-term and long-term disability files, insure the liaison between the Insurer and the Company and refer files for medical assessment when necessary. May also be called upon to collaborate on disciplinary and/or administrative management of files;
  • Ensure the opening of files on work-related injuries with pan-Canadian bodies (CNESST, WSIB, WBC);
  • Ensure follow-up on work-related injury files in collaboration with external experts ;
  • Act as a resource person for employees who must be absent for medical reasons;
  • Coordinate return to work (temporary assignments, regular or progressive);
  • Follow-up of disputes and preparation of files for hearings at the Tribunal administratif du travail ;
  • Ensure follow-up of medical files and required assessments in collaboration with the Company’s doctor or nurse medical consultant;
  • Communicate all necessary information to the employees and managers;
  • Maintain KPI data up to date to track the insurer’s performance;
  • Develop and implement best practices in medical absence management.
  • Administrative management of Covid-19 cases;
  • Ensure computer management of files and all related movements:  input and update files in the SAP system system in coordination with the Payroll Department;
  • Responsible for absence management for specific groups of employees.

 

Qualifications
  • College diploma in business administration or equivalent;
  • Five (5) years to seven (7) years of relevant experience (unionized environment, an asset);
  • Oral and written fluency in French and English *
  • Strong skills in interpersonal relations as well as in written and oral communication;
  • Teamwork approach;
  • Thorough, efficient and able to work under pressure;
  • Client-driven, self-sufficient and very good organizational skills;
  • Very at ease in a position requiring the extensive use of various software.

 

*A good knowledge of French is required for positions in Quebec. The incumbent will be required to communicate and collaborate frequently in English, both orally and in writing, with colleagues, customers, and other stakeholders in Quebec, the rest of Canada, and internationally.
