Primary Location: Remote / Various Locations in Florida

Clearance: Level II Background/Public Trust

Must be a US Citizen

Ability to work remotely: Must have reliable Internet and phone (land line or cellular) for on-call and scheduled access weekdays, weeknights, weekends, and holidays. Must be willing to deploy within 36-hours of assignment to locations across the state of Florida.

Obsidian Solutions Group (OSG) is seeking a Quality Control (QC) Specialist (Linguist) to join the Team! As a member of OSG’s project team, the QC Specialist (Linguist) reports directly to the Site Supervisor.


The QC Specialist (Linguist) will have a strong background in quality assurance, specifically within the translation and interpretation industry, and will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of accuracy and quality are maintained throughout the project lifecycle. The ideal candidate will possess verifiable evaluation and auditing skills, a strong background in ISO 9001:2015/CMMI for Services and have a familiarity with law enforcement protocols and Title III regulations governing intercepted and collected information. 


In support of Obsidian’s Title III services contract, the QC Specialist (Linguist) will perform the following activities and possess the relevant qualifications, skills, and competencies listed herein.


Specific Responsibilities

  • Quality Assurance: Under the supervision of the Site Supervisor, direct and review data analyses to validate the methods, accuracy, and conclusions or recommendations of on-site or remote data analysts. 
  • Standards Compliance: Ensure all deliverables meet the contractual requirements and industry standards.
  • Process Improvement: Implement quality control processes and procedures to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Team Coordination: Work closely with data analysts to provide feedback and guidance on quality issues.
  • Training & Development: Conduct training sessions for data analysts on quality standards and best practices.
  • Reporting: Prepare detailed quality control reports and maintain documentation of quality assurance activities.
  • Client Interaction: Liaise with clients to understand their quality expectations and address any concerns or feedback.


Requirements
  • Experience: 5+ years of experience in quality assurance / quality control / Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI) for Services
  • Certified in quality management
  • 3+ years in a leadership role in quality 
  • Experience supporting data-driven language programs
  • Credentials: Quality Management (e.g., ISO 8000, ATA)


Skills and Competencies

  • Experience assuring quality of language and translation work.
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Proficiency in using quality control tools and software.
  • Preferred: Proficiency in Spanish, Haitian/French-Creole, French, Chinese Mandarin, Italian, Arabic, or Russian.


Physical Requirements and Work Environment

  • Home office and traditional office settings 


Travel

  • Occasional requirement to travel within 48-hours’ notice of project assignment.
  • Travel within Florida by air or car as required by the contract.
