Overall Responsibilities and Key Accountabilities
- Design of rail track and support infrastructure for greenfield and brownfield clients.
- Actively engage with internal and external clients and coordinate the work with other disciplines.
- Responsible for development of design criteria and construction specifications.
- Undertake, supervise, and provide expert technical mentorship on analysis, modelling, reports, design, and drawings for railroad track engineering design.
- Oversee preparation of quantity take-offs and assist in the preparation of capital cost estimates.
- Attend project meetings and liaise with project team members, clients, sub-consultants, contractors, and regulatory and environmental approval agencies.
- Actively encourage and support a safety-oriented culture.
- Travel as required for various field programs.
Qualifications
- The ideal candidate will have a degree in civil engineering from an accredited post-secondary institution.
- Minimum 20 years prior experience in railroad track design with a Class 1 Railroad and or engineering and design firm.
- Able to direct rail design activities and provide expert guidance in key rail planning scopes.
- Conversant with American Railway Engineering and Maintenance-of Way Association standards and Class 1 Railroad track design standards.

The Associate Technical Consultant, Infrastructure is a full-time position with flexibility around the location of the role. This role is for a civil engineer that will support our regional and global rail infrastructure business.
