Company Description

NIQ seeking a highly skilled Senior Engineer, Cyber (Sec Engineering) to join our growing cybersecurity team. In this role, you will be responsible for evaluating, deploying, and managing tools, processes, and procedures to secure the company's systems and infrastructure. The successful candidate will have deep experience across various cybersecurity domains, including network security, endpoint security, vulnerability management, and more. You will collaborate with teams across geographies and play a key role in maintaining and improving the company's overall security posture within a multi-national environment.

Job Description

Responsibilities:

  • Deploy, manage, and optimize cybersecurity technologies, including network and endpoint security solutions, vulnerability management, and other key systems.
  • Partner with the application security team to implement security controls aligned with business operations.
  • Provide security recommendations for enterprise IT architecture, including baseline security controls and hardening requirements.
  • Define and enforce security guardrails that protect company systems and infrastructure while maintaining operational agility.
  • Collaborate with the Security Operations Center to define monitoring requirements for critical systems and applications.
  • Contribute to the security champions program by providing expertise and training on infrastructure security.
  • Assist in design and architecture discussions, ensuring that security is embedded in the design of enterprise systems and networks.
  • Apply hands-on experience with security tools to address concerns related to cybersecurity incidents and infrastructure protection.
  • Act as a mentor to junior engineers and lead projects with manageable risks and resource requirements.
  • Apply a deep understanding of cybersecurity in the context of the organization's broader business goals to align security practices with business needs.
  • Solve a range of cybersecurity challenges of varying scope and complexity, applying innovative solutions based on multiple data sources and security trends.
  • Contribute to the overall security and operational effectiveness of the organization by improving security processes, reducing risk, and ensuring secure delivery of services.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related technical field; equivalent work experience will be considered.
  • 5-8 years of experience in cybersecurity with a focus on network, endpoint, and infrastructure security.
  • Proficiency in deploying and managing cybersecurity technologies, including network security, vulnerability management, and endpoint protection solutions.
  • Expertise in network and infrastructure technologies, including firewalls, IDS/IPS, and endpoint detection and response (EDR) tools.
  • Strong knowledge of security best practices and industry frameworks (e.g., Zero Trust Architecture, NIST, CIS).
  • Experience with security operations tools and methodologies.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, capable of addressing complex security challenges with innovative solutions.
  • Self-starter with a passion for technology, cybersecurity, and continuous improvement.
  • Demonstrated engagement in security conferences, training, and continuous learning is highly desirable.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work in a global, matrixed environment.
