Consultant Qualifications
Minimum 7 years of experience in Master Data Management, with expertise in designing and
implementing MDM and RDM systems from scratch.
Proven track record in developing MDM strategies and governance frameworks for large
organizations.
Strong knowledge of customer data governance, data quality frameworks, and harmonization
methodologies.
Experience with MDM tools and CRM/ERP systems.
Familiarity with data privacy and compliance requirements.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Proficient in communicating in English language.
3. Scope of Work
The Senior Consultant will be responsible for the following tasks:
3.1. Assessment and Requirements Gathering
Conduct a detailed assessment of current data management processes, focusing on gaps and
challenges in managing customer data.
Engage with key stakeholders across departments to gather requirements and define the scope
of the new MDM and RDM system.
Document existing pain points, such as data duplication, inconsistency, and lack of data
governance.
3.2. Strategy Development for MDM
Develop a comprehensive strategy for establishing a centralized Master Data Management and
Reference Data Management system.
Define clear objectives for the new MDM/RDM system, including the consolidation of customer
records, customer name harmonization, and creation of golden records.
Establish a roadmap for the design, development, and implementation of the MDM/RDM
system, with timelines, milestones, and deliverables.
Define clear goals, objectives, and KPIs for the MDM strategy.
3.3. MDM Governance Framework and Policies
Design a data governance framework that includes roles, responsibilities, and processes for
maintaining the accuracy and integrity of master data across the organization.
Define policies for managing customer data, ensuring compliance with data privacy regulations
and organizational standards.
Develop a governance structure that supports the continuous improvement of data quality and
consistency in the new MDM/RDM system.
3.4. System Architecture and Integration Design
Design the architecture for the new MDM and RDM system, ensuring it integrates with existing
enterprise systems (CRM, ERP, data lakes, etc.).
Define data modeling and harmonization rules for creating golden records of customers,
including data deduplication, standardization, and validation processes.
Collaborate with the relevant line of business to ensure that the system is scalable, secure, and
compliant with relevant data protection regulations and policies.
3.5. Tool Evaluation and Technology Recommendations
Evaluate existing MDM and RDM solutions in the market, considering factors such as scalability,
ease of integration, data governance capabilities, and total cost of ownership.
Recommend the most suitable MDM and RDM platforms for the organization and provide a
detailed justification for the selection.
Support the procurement and installation of the recommended tool.
3.6. Implementation and Data Migration Plan
Develop an implementation plan for the new MDM and RDM system, including data migration,
system configuration, and integration with existing platforms.
Oversee the migration of customer data into the new system, ensuring proper data cleansing,
deduplication, and transformation during the process.
Establish procedures for testing, validation, and user acceptance during the implementation
phase
3.7. Training and Change Management
Develop and execute a change management plan to ensure successful adoption of the new
MDM/RDM system by end-users.
Provide training sessions and workshops for key stakeholders to ensure they understand how to
effectively use the new system.
Ensure proper documentation is created for ongoing maintenance and governance of the new
system.
3.8. Documentation and Reporting
Prepare detailed documentation of the MDM/RDM strategy, including architecture, governance
framework, data management policies, and technical specifications.
Provide regular progress reports and updates to the leadership team, outlining achievements,
challenges, and next steps.
Deliverables
The consultant will be responsible for delivering the following:
1. Assessment Report: Comprehensive analysis of the current state of data management, including
pain points and requirements for the new MDM/RDM system.
2. MDM and RDM Strategy Document: Detailed strategy outlining the approach to implement the
new system, including data governance and golden record creation.
3. USE Case Documentation: Detailed descriptions of relevant USE cases for MDM and RDM.
4. Governance Framework: Policies and procedures for managing customer data and maintaining
the new MDM/RDM system.
5. System Architecture and Integration Plan: Technical design and architecture for integrating the
new MDM system with existing enterprise systems.
6. Tool Evaluation Report: Recommendations for the MDM/RDM platform(s), with a detailed
analysis of the selected tools.
7. Implementation and Migration Plan: A detailed step-by-step guide for migrating data into the
new system, testing, and validating results.
8. Training Materials and Change Management Plan: Resources for training key stakeholders and
ensuring organization-wide adoption of the new system.
9. Final Report: A comprehensive summary of all work completed, including recommendations for
ongoing management and governance of the MDM/RDM system.
Reporting and Governance
The consultant will report to the CDO and will provide regular progress updates. Weekly or bi-weekly
meetings will ensure alignment with the organization’s strategic objectives.
