Software International (SI) supplies technical talent to Fortune 100/500/1000 companies in Canada/US. We currently have a long term 10 month contract with our IT consulting client that is working with their large end client.

Role(s) Required: Functional Lead: SAP Finance & Controlling

Location: Ontario, Canada- REMOTE

Required Start Date: ASAP

Type: Contract

Duration: 10 months +possible extension

Business Process Knowledge, ability to map business processes to SAP functionality. Strong understanding of end-to-end processes across industries, such as finance, procurement, supply chain, human resources, etc. Business acumen to understand and optimize the client's existing processes.


We are seeking an experienced **Functional Lead SAP Finance & Controlling (FI/CO)** with strong business process knowledge to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for leading the implementation, configuration, and ongoing optimization of the SAP FI/CO modules. You will work closely with clients to understand their financial processes, map them to SAP functionality, and drive efficiency across various industries such as finance, procurement, supply chain, and human resources. Your business acumen and understanding of end-to-end processes will allow you to deliver solutions that optimize and enhance clients' existing workflows.

**Key Responsibilities:**
- Lead the design, implementation, and support of SAP Finance & Controlling (FI/CO) solutions, ensuring alignment with business processes.
- Analyze and map client business processes, particularly in finance, procurement, supply chain, and human resources, to SAP FI/CO functionality.
- Gather and translate business requirements into functional specifications for SAP FI/CO solutions, tailoring them to optimize clients' existing processes.
- Provide subject matter expertise on SAP FI/CO modules, ensuring optimal integration with other SAP modules like MM, SD, PP, and HR.
- Manage full-cycle SAP implementations, from requirements gathering through system configuration, testing, training, and post-go-live support.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure a smooth integration of financial data across all business functions.
- Continuously identify opportunities for improving financial processes through SAP enhancements and industry best practices.
- Provide leadership and guidance to junior team members and end users, fostering knowledge transfer and promoting system adoption.
- Troubleshoot and resolve SAP FI/CO-related issues to minimize business disruption and ensure optimal system performance.
- Stay updated on SAP innovations, particularly within SAP S/4HANA, and recommend enhancements that align with business needs.

 **Qualifications:**
- Bachelors degree in Finance, Information Technology, Business, or related field.
- **5+ years of experience** in SAP Finance & Controlling (FI/CO) implementation and configuration, including multiple full-cycle projects.
- Strong knowledge of end-to-end business processes across industries (e.g., finance, procurement, supply chain, HR) and how they map to SAP functionality.
- Proven ability to analyze and optimize financial and controlling processes for business efficiency.
- Deep expertise in SAP FI/CO module configuration, customization, and integration with other modules (MM, SD, PP, HR).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage business stakeholders and understand their needs.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to lead multiple projects and deliver on tight deadlines.
- Demonstrated ability to mentor and guide junior team members, fostering a collaborative and learning environment.
