General position summary:
Develop, network and discover potential prospects in a territory, analyze client needs, lead and manage technical projects, provide scope of accountability and assign deliverables. Consult and provide technical business solutions, including hardware recommendations, software, professional services, and managed services on client’s behalf.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Develops and expands a portfolio of clients by networking and marketing
- Prepares sales visits and presentations to pitch services to clients
- Establishes sales goals and implements a plan to meet those goals
- Tracks progress toward goals and documents sales performance
- Act as a technical advisor and account management support resource for your clients
- Manage projects before and after-sales, including on-site surveys, customer demos/trials
- Collaborate with the account management team to assess projects, including labor and pricing
- Work side by side with complimentary trade partners such as architects, interior designers, general contractors, electricians, lighting and furniture integrators, technology integrators and manufacturers
- Work closely with manufacturers, strategic partners and internal teams in the field
- Drive standards-based solutions with recommended maintenance and managed services
- Represent clients needs based on budget, timelines and functionality
- Take time to understand the true experience clients need to deliver to their workspace and help them understand the importance of how properly implemented technology reduces wasted time and increases productivity over time.
- Promote sales training and education to increase product, technology and solution knowledge
- Attends trade exhibitions and industry events to learn about cutting-edge products and sales
Job Skills Required:
- Ability to develop, prospect, network and grow a territory of clients
- Ability to meet territory sales goals
- Background in workspace technology (3+ years)
- Ambition to continuously learn about new technology products and implementations strategies
- Understanding of Maintenance and Managed Services
- Strong vendor and client management skills; cooperate and collaborate with internal and contracted technicians, programmers and support personnel
- Effective communication and leadership skills, including mentoring and human resource development
- Must be able to travel to branches 25% of the time

Education & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university preferred; 3+ years industry experience
Language Skills:
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to write routine reports.
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
Mathematical Skills:
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
- Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
Reasoning Ability:
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Computer Operations:
- To perform this job successfully, an individual should have strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, and the ability to learn and effectively use software applications such as move management, accounting/billing, HRIS and other applications used in the performance of job duties.
Planning/Organization:
- Ability to prioritize and re-prioritize as situations and needs change throughout the workday
- Ability to multi-task and organize workflow to manage daily responsibilities, meet deadlines and prioritize work
