Infrastructure Team Lead || Linux Sys. Administration & DevOps

Horizons is looking for an Infrastructure Team Lead focused on Linux System Administration and DevOps to join one of our international clients, an Austrian-based FinTech company focused on Big Data and Pattern Recognition.

The position will play a critical role in overseeing the infrastructure operations, driving automation, and managing a team of engineers. You will be responsible for ensuring system stability, security, and performance while collaborating with cross-functional teams to optimize infrastructure. You will be reporting directly to the CEO. 

Contract & Location

• Permanent contract – Full-time.
• Candidates based in Austria or Slovakia. Preferably, in Vienna or Bratislava.

Key Responsabilities

• Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of Linux system administrators and DevOps engineers, ensuring high performance and professional development.
• Linux System Administration: Manage the installation, configuration, and maintenance of Linux-based servers (e.g., Red Hat, Ubuntu, CentOS) to ensure high availability and system performance.
• Automation & DevOps: Drive the adoption of DevOps tools such as Ansible, Terraform, Jenkins, and Docker to automate system administration tasks and streamline CI/CD pipelines.
• Infrastructure as Code: Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices for repeatable and scalable infrastructure setups across on-premise and cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• System Monitoring & Troubleshooting: Use tools like Prometheus, Grafana, and Nagios to monitor system performance and address complex infrastructure issues.
• Security & Compliance: Ensure the security of systems through patch management, monitoring, and regular vulnerability assessments.
• Collaboration: Work with development teams to support CI/CD pipelines and deployment strategies, ensuring smooth and efficient operations.
• Disaster Recovery & Backup: Develop and implement disaster recovery plans and backup procedures to protect critical infrastructure.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in Linux system administration and DevOps, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
• Expertise in Linux operating systems (Red Hat, Ubuntu, CentOS) and DevOps tools like Ansible, Puppet, Terraform, Docker, and Kubernetes.
• Experience with system monitoring tools (Zabbix, Prometheus, Grafana).
• Scripting skills in Python, Bash, or similar languages.
• Strong leadership and project management skills.
• Relevant certifications (RHCE, AWS Solutions Architect, CKA) are a plus.
• German language is also a plus. 

Compensation & Benefits

• Salary range: EUR 75,000 - 80,000 (gross, yearly)
