Position Description
Promotes coffee consumption by educating customers on our company mission and vision. Prepares and serves a variety of coffee drinks, along with pastries, cookies, and other snacks. Instrumental in building customer relationships and fostering a positive and friendly store environment for Thrive Services Group Inc. (“Thrive”).

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Welcomes customers by determining their coffee interests and needs, maintains a positive attitude at all times.
  • Educates customers by presenting and explaining the coffee drink menu and answering questions.
  • Prepares and sells coffee drinks by following prescribed recipes and preparation techniques for coffee drinks, such as espresso, latte and cappuccino.
  • Generates revenues by attracting new customers.
  • Maintains inventory by replenishing coffee bean supply, stocking coffee brewing equipment, maintaining supplies, pastries, and cookies.
  • Keeps equipment operating by following operating instructions, troubleshooting breakdowns, maintaining supplies, performing preventive maintenance and calling for repairs.
  • Maintains a safe and healthy work environment by following organization standards and sanitation regulations. 
  • Performs assigned cleaning duties before, during and after the shift.
  • Assists in building customer relationships as well as guest recovery.
  • Opens and closes the store. Counts and closes cash drawer after closing, bundling money in safe for deposit.
  • Assists store management with any additional duties.
  • Performs other related duties, as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications (Education, Experience, Skills):

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 2+ years of coffee or food service experience required.
  • Prior coffee shop experience preferred.
  • Maricopa County Food Handler card required.
  • ServSafe Food Manager Certification required. 
  • Experience with telephone, office, and point-of-sale software.
  • Ability to pass a background check and drug screen, where applicable for position.
