About the Role:

Under the general direction of the customer’s Data Center Manager (or equivalent) and the Technical Manager, the Data Center Administrator will manage the day-to-day operations associated with operating and maintaining the customer environment. This position will lead local resources in installation and provisioning and provide the initial configuration of resources supporting the data center function, such as routers, switches, servers, power distribution, and cabling.

 

What You’ll Do:

  • Workload Management: Lead, manage, and assign work based on priority, skillset, and availability of data center resources, vendors, and OEMs (Original Equipment Manufacturers).
  • Quality Assurance:  Ensure the quality of work meets system functional specifications based on the analysis of techniques and procedures aligned to the hardware/software supported through consultation or review with clients. Ensure testing and documentation of modified hardware computer systems upon completion of work.
  • Subject Matter Expertise: Upon consulting with customers to determine the hardware, software, or system specifications, facilitate installation or decommissioning of all types of enterprise infrastructure equipment, and develop documentation regarding the physical schematics leveraged to ensure appropriate testing and maintenance for the systems and hardware.
  • Technical Escalation: Serve as the primary technical escalation point for onsite data center technicians, providing guidance and next steps for complex issues
  • Customer Experience: Provide timely and accurate communications to stakeholders, including overall status, health, and business benefits tracking for programs and projects.
  • Workspace Management: Ensure data center workspace cleanliness by establishing and enforcing cleanliness standards.

 

Qualifications & Interests:

  • Project Management: Demonstrated experience in project management within a technical environment.
  • Technical Operations: A minimum of 5 years of experience in managing data center technical operations.
  • Hands-on Experience: A minimum of 10 years of experience in data center operations, including "smart hands" tasks and technician-level work desired.
  • Resource Management: A minimum of 3 years of experience in managing and coordinating technical resources within a data center environment.
  • Design and Solutioning: Experience in designing and implementing data center environments and solutions is preferred.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, reporting, and project management skills
  • Must be customer-centric and work under aggressive timelines

Education and Certifications:

  • Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field required.
  • Professional Certifications:
    • CDCMP (Certified Data Center Management Professional)
    • ITIL Foundation v4
    • PMP (Project Management Professional) preferred
  • Technical Certifications:
    • CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate)
    • CompTIA Network+ preferred
    • CompTIA A+, CompTIA Server+, CompTIA Cloud+ preferred

 

Actual salary will be based on a variety of factors, including location, experience, skill set, performance, licensure and certification, and business needs. The range for this position in other geographic locations may differ. Certain positions may also be eligible for variable incentive compensation, such as bonuses or commissions, that is not included in the base salary.

$81,800$110,600 USD
