Engineering Practice Lead

As the Engineering Practice Lead at Kramp Group, you will be responsible for defining and leading the strategy for establishing strong engineering practices across the organization. 

In this role, you will drive alignment and establish a clear vision for over 100 software engineers organized in product and platform teams, with a focus on defining software engineering standards, processes and driving adoption. 

Your primary objective will be to enhance the maturity of our engineering practices,  improving  quality and reliability of our systems, as well as elevating the developer experience across teams. This role is critical in driving the consistency and excellence of engineering within Kramp Group working closely with the Head of Architecture. 

 

Things that will keep you busy: 

  • Operational Leadership: Lead the implementation and continuous improvement of engineering practices and processes to ensure high operational standards. 

  • System Stability and Reliability: Drive initiatives aimed at improving the stability, scalability, and performance of IT systems. 

  • Quality Assurance: Implement and maintain static code analysis tools and processes to ensure high code quality standards are met. 

  • Process Optimization: Discover, align and document engineering processes across the teams 

  • Continuous improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements within the engineering organization and lead initiatives to implement these changes. 

  • Knowledge management: Promote and facilitate engineering knowledge sharing within our company and with the outside world. 

  • Platform vision: Play the role of the business owner of technology platform teams, ensuring alignment between Kramp’s vision on engineering and development of technology components supporting it. 

  • Engineering advocacy: Act as a trusted advisor for the Technology Leadership Team with regards to matters concerning engineering.

Who are you?  

What will help you be successful in this role? 

  • Background in software engineering (5+ years) complimenting with 2+ years in leadership position. 

  • Strong understanding of software development processes, static code analysis, and quality assurance practices. 

  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, automation tools, and system monitoring solutions. 

  • Ability to think strategically and make data-driven decisions. 

  • Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to identifying and addressing operational challenges. 

  • Ability to formulate, align and drive adoption of a company-wide vision on software engineering 

  • Proven track record of managing system stability, incident management, and operational processes in a complex IT environment.
