The Opportunity

Valvoline has a rewarding opportunity as a Demand Planning Manager. In this role, you will oversee the execution of the demand planning processes within the planning tool. This role will partner with the Valvoline Retail Services (VRS)Supply Chain team to gather the necessary inputs to manage the demand plan at multiple levels of aggregation for multiple time horizons. The primary responsibility of this role is to provide a demand plan within the desired level of accuracy to our largest supplier by analyzing historical trends and forecast accuracy, making necessary adjustments, and maintaining a high level of data integrity. This role will be the subject matter expert for demand planning and our demand planning tool.

 

How You'll Make a Difference

  • Responsible for gathering information that affects demand, such as new product introductions, promotions, changing market conditions, pricing changes, and obsolescence, to adjust demand forecasts at multiple levels of aggregation for multiple time horizons to ensure VRS achieves the desired forecast accuracy.
  • Partner with internal and external resources to continuously improve the demand planning processes and tools.
  • Responsible for demand planning, reporting, and improving forecast accuracy to agreed-upon targets.
  • Responsible for the creation, storage, and maintenance of the process documentation about demand planning.
  • Must become an expert on our demand planning tool.
  • Create processes to identify data integrity issues and analyze root causes to reduce future issues.
  • Attend conferences or obtain certifications pertaining to supply chain.

What You'll Need to Succeed

  • Bachelor's degree (Master's degree preferred)
  • Minimum of five years of professional supply chain experience
  • Understanding of S&OP processes
  • History with forecasting and planning processes and tools
  • Background in data analytics
  • Strong data analysis skills
  • Must be able to process documentation
  • Ability to work cross-functionally
  • Excellent verbal and communication skills
  • Understanding and ability to explain supply chain KPIs (key performance indicators)
  • Self-directed
  • Effective communicator throughout all levels of the organization
  • Experience with BI tools
  • Optimization of processes through continuous improvement
  • Must be customer-focused
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
