About the Position:

An ideal candidate for the Senior Managing Consultant position in DRS’ Commercial Insurance Practice will have a strong background in forensic accounting and claims calculations across industry sectors, with a focus on complex business interruption.  The Senior Managing Consultant will be responsible for generating business, selling projects, and successfully managing client engagements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and sell engagements to generate annual consulting fees of $400k - $1.5M+

  • Drive business development through client targeting, conferences, and speaking engagements

  • Supervise multiple engagements and practice areas effectively

  • Establish realistic timelines and communicate expectations with clients and teams

  • Collaborate on report drafting with key stakeholders for alignment

  • Provide communication strategy guidance and messaging direction to the team

  • Cultivate and manage relationships with client executives

  • Ensure compliance with engagement risk protocols and manage budget utilization

  • Lead and mentor a team of early-in-career professionals

  • Engage in performance management activities, including goal setting and feedback sessions

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 15 years of relevant experience in forensic accounting with strong knowledge of complex business interruption calculations

  • A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university in accounting, finance, economics, or related discipline. Master’s degree in business and/or CPA a plus.

  • Exceptional negotiation skills with complex/sophisticated situations involving executive and senior level stakeholders

  • High energy style, flexible and adaptive, with the ability to work well in a very fast paced environment

  • Ability to adapt to complex client environments and situations

  • Proven track record of effectively planning for and proactively mitigating risks on engagements

  • Expert written communication skills, self-directed with preparation of client ready document and presentation development

  • Articulate, persuasive, communicator who is adept at handling executive and difficult audiences well including ability to adapt style to audience

Work Location:

This position a remote work experience with travel required to be at client sites as the projects dictate.

Salary Transparency:

Disclosure required under applicable state or municipality regulations: The expected salary range for this position is $175,000-$200,000 with a discretionary bonus and will be impacted by factors such as the successful candidate’s skills, experience and working location, as well as the specific position’s business line, scope and level.
