Hourly base pay rate is $25.58 - $38.37/hour. The hourly base rate may vary within the anticipated range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate’s knowledge, skills, and abilities. Position may be eligible for additional compensation that may include commission (annual, monthly, etc.) and/or an incentive program.

Job Description

As a Cloud Operations Specialist in our Network Operations Center (NOC), you will help ensure the operational success of RapidScale’s clients and internal teams by providing world-class monitoring support. Your responsibilities will include coordinating, and monitoring infrastructure in AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud. You will also be maintaining our call center queue, and break/fix ticket queues daily to ensure clients’ needs are met with little to no down time. This is an entry-level position for a cloud technologist who’s looking to start a career in Engineering. 

Responsibilities:

  • Monitoring support both internally and externally 
  • Coordinate client infrastructure patching needs.  
  • Analyze and assign incoming tickets within our ticketing system
  • Monitor client infrastructure to prevent downtime and escalate appropriately when an outage occurs.  
  • Leverage AlertLogic, our third-party monitoring tool to identify vulnerabilities that need attention within our client AWS/Azure/ Google cloud environments. 
  • Utilize Jira Service Desk, our internal ticketing system, to create, monitor, and update tickets for our clients 
  • Assist internal users on system and troubleshooting issues as IT support 
  • Assist Service Delivery Group gathering information for client reports 
  • Create technical documentation & drive operational process improvement 
  • Compile server utilization reports to help clients with capacity planning 
  • Work with infrastructure as code (IaC) such as Terraform to make changes to client infrastructure.  
  • Complete online training courses on relevant technologies used within our organization 
  • Leverage automation tools (Tanium, ASGs, Azure automation accounts) to perform maintenances in a sustainable repeatable function.  

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma/GED and 3 years’ experience in a related field. The right candidate could also have a different combination, such as any level degree/certification beyond a HS diploma/GED in a related discipline and up to 1 year of experience; or 5 years’ experience in a related field
  • Must be able to work Thursday - Monday 3:45PM - 12:15AM shift
  • Foundational Cloud Certification in any of the following service providers: Google Cloud, AWS, or Azure 
  • Familiarity with Linux/Unix and/or Windows Server Administration 
  • Excellent customer service and strong written/verbal communication skills 
  • Ability to multitask effectively 
  • High attention to detail 
  • Ability and curiosity to learn a full range of technology platforms and data network systems as well as apply new skills rapidly 
  • 1 year of experience in a technological field; internships or school IT departments count! 
  • An interest in emerging technologies and a passion go learn cloud.
