Business Analyst I

Position Purpose: Perform various analysis and interpretation to link business needs and objectives for assigned function.

• Support business initiatives through data analysis, identification of implementation barriers and user acceptance testing of new systems
• Identify and analyze user requirements, procedures, and problems to improve existing processes
• Perform detailed analysis on assigned projects, recommend potential business solutions and assist with implementation
• Manage State/Health Plan escalations, conducting detailed investigations and ensuring resolution.
• Generate ad-hoc reports and analyses using Basic SQL, supporting data-driven decision-making.
• Act as the primary contact for assigned Health Plans/State entities, fostering productive relationships.
• Develop, maintain, and improve operational processes and procedures.
• Participate in User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and support both internal and external audits.
• Research and resolve enrollment data issues, Encounter rejects, 820/834 Reconciliation issues, and Claims Recoupment projects.

Education/Experience: Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent experience. 0-2 years of business process analysis or data analysis experience. Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Applications, including Excel and Access preferred. Project management experience preferred.

Member & Provider Solutions: Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent experience. 0-2 years of business process analysis (i.e. documenting business process, gathering requirements) experience in healthcare industry and/or customer service or enrollment functions. Experience with 834 enrollment data preferred. Familiarity with enrollment data issues through various enrollment platforms such as UMV/WellCare Xcelys and facets preferred. Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Applications, including Excel and SQL preferred. Knowledge of data integration, software enhancements/planning and Agile preferred. Experience managing projects with a high reliance on technology preferred. Experience in UAT Testing, internal/external audits, and entry-level presentation skills highly preferred.
