At Indiewalls, we help the world’s largest brands source and commission fine art for their properties. In doing so, we collaborate with hundreds of independent artists to whom we’ve paid over $7,000,000 since our launch. We are a full service art consultancy that handles everything from creative art proposals, to production, through commission supervision, and install coordination. Our clients include the corporate offices of Amazon and Google, hotels such as Ritz Carlton and MGM, luxury cruises and multifamily projects, and healthcare facilities.

Our lifeblood is our ability to constantly put out one-of-a-kind art collections. The Creative Director will oversee all the creative/artistic output at Indiewalls. This includes the curatorial team's output and proposals to clients, as well as the brand's representation to the world. The ideal candidate will have a combination of branding experience and a passion for the creative arts and interior design. We are looking for someone who lives and breathes creativity.



Responsibilities.

  • Oversee the creative output of the Indiewalls curatorial team, ensuring the highest standards of curation across a team of seven curators.
  • Set and maintain curatorial standards, ensuring consistency and alignment with Indiewalls’ brand and vision. This includes creative and visual standards, as well as physical standards for fine art.
  • Help the team develop the creative and curatorial strategy at the onset of each project, participating in project kickoff calls to establish a clear, strategic approach.
  • Review and provide feedback on all creative proposals, guiding the curatorial direction for client presentations.
  • Collaborate closely with the marketing team to determine the look and feel of client-facing collateral, including websites, pitch decks, marketing materials, and event setups.
  • Shape the creative direction for all client interactions and experiences, ensuring that visual communication and presentation are in line with Indiewalls’ brand identity.
  • Stay ahead of industry trends and emerging creative practices to maintain a competitive edge in the art consultancy market.
  • Ensure all creative work aligns with the company’s strategic goals, keeping creativity at the core of business growth.
  • Understand creative/framed product offerings and drive innovation to continually evolve the company’s art solutions and stay ahead of competitors.
  • Foster relationships with artists, industry experts, and curators to drive innovation and inspiration across the company’s creative endeavors.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in art curation, art consultancy, interior design, or a related creative industry.
  • Proven track record of delivering exceptional, innovative creative work in a professional setting.
  • Experience working with multidisciplinary teams, ideally including close collaboration with marketing departments to develop client-facing collateral.
  • Strong eye for detail and ability to set and uphold creative standards across multiple projects and teams.
  • Ability to provide constructive feedback and guidance on curatorial work without direct management responsibilities.
  • A deep understanding of contemporary art, design trends, and the ability to forecast future trends.
  • Passion for creativity, art, and design, with a strong sense of aesthetic judgment.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to articulate creative ideas clearly and persuasively.
  • A proactive, strategic mindset with the ability to think outside the box and keep Indiewalls at the forefront of the art industry.
