Senior Cloud Solutions Architect specializing in Microsoft Azure to lead a team of cloud architects and engineers. This newly formed Cloud Engineering Practice is focused on helping organizations transform their technology capabilities by leveraging cutting-edge cloud technologies. As a Senior Cloud Solutions Architect, you will combine your technical, consulting, and industry expertise to develop and implement cloud strategies that drive innovation and operational efficiency for clients. This role offers the opportunity to lead and shape the direction of a highly skilled team while delivering impactful, cloud-first solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leadership and Coaching: Take an "always learning" approach, leading and mentoring a team of cloud architects and engineers, and contributing to multiple cloud-focused projects.
  • Solution Design: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather client requirements, translating them into tailored cloud-based solutions, and developing statements of work (SOWs) for potential clients.
  • Cloud Strategy and Architecture: Develop reference architectures and best practices to optimize cloud adoption, security, application performance, and cost models for clients.
  • Client Engagement: Build and manage new and existing client relationships, providing cloud solutions that align with their strategic business goals.
  • Technical Leadership: Provide go-to-market and technical leadership for asset-driven cloud-based solutions, working with teams to bring them to market.
  • Team Development: Recruit, coach, and develop a high-performing cloud engineering team, fostering a culture of growth and skill development.
  • Cloud Engineering Practice: Lead initiatives to shape the Cloud Engineering Practice, including resource requirements, project workflows, and operating budgets.
  • Strategic Collaboration: Collaborate with senior leadership to define and implement strategic directions for emerging enterprise cloud services.

Requirements
  • Extensive experience in cloud architecture or similar roles, ideally in sectors such as finance, retail, telecommunications, or government.
  • Proven expertise in cloud technologies (especially Microsoft Azure), cloud-based business applications, and project execution.
  • Experience leading large-scale cloud programs across multiple functional teams, including enterprise architecture, data technology, and governance.
  • Deep understanding of cloud architecture principles including application migration, microservices, DevOps strategies, security, and data management in a cloud environment.
  • Hands-on experience with Azure services such as Azure Virtual Machines, Kubernetes (AKS), Azure DevOps, Azure SQL Database, Azure Functions, and more.
  • Experience with infrastructure as code (e.g., Terraform, Ansible), configuration management, and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Strong knowledge of application modernization strategies, including migration of legacy systems to modern cloud environments.
  • Experience delivering in agile and waterfall methodologies.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex technical concepts for business stakeholders.
Preferred Technical Skills:
  • Expertise with Azure Cloud Solution Architecture.
  • Knowledge of container development and Kubernetes management.
  • Experience with DevOps tools such as Jenkins, Ansible, and Azure Pipelines.
  • Familiarity with programming languages like Go, Python, and NPM.
  • Proficiency in software testing, monitoring, and alerting systems.
  • Experience with application migration and modernization (microservices architecture).
