Job Overview

We are seeking an accomplished Internal Audit Control Manager with a focus on Compliance to join our esteemed organization. In this pivotal remote role, you will ensure that our company consistently meets all federal, state, and GSE regulations. Your extensive expertise will be vital in shaping compliance matrices, providing invaluable insights during internal audits, and enhancing our overall risk management initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Regularly maintain and update compliance matrices to ensure alignment with the latest federal, state, and GSE regulations through a systematic quarterly review.
  • Serve as the compliance authority during internal audits and on designated projects, offering guidance on the implications of consumer compliance regulations to various teams.
  • Collaborate in validation projects, utilizing your compliance knowledge to drive effectiveness.
  • Assist audit teams in recognizing relevant compliance aspects necessary for their audits.
  • Develop test protocols for regulatory compliance as required.
  • Analyze and interpret findings from regulatory audits to provide actionable insights.
  • Keep abreast of compliance department activities by participating in change management meetings.
  • Conduct training sessions for department staff to enhance their compliance capabilities.
  • Offer strategic recommendations aimed at improving audit processes and initiatives.
  • Take part in the annual risk assessment process to foster a deeper understanding of organizational risks.
  • Contribute to the completion of the annual audit plan for your assigned areas, ensuring alignment with corporate objectives.
  • Support special projects as assigned by management, showcasing your adaptability and dedication to organizational success.
  • Oversee audit engagements to ensure comprehensive coverage of risk assessment, audit planning, testing, and reporting, all while adhering to corporate policies and regulatory guidelines.
  • Cultivate strong relationships with business process owners and upper management to enhance collaboration.
  • Work with audit colleagues to identify and promptly report emerging control issues to audit and business management.
  • Engage in the development of team members to foster a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth.
  • Perform thorough analyses of risk trends to ascertain suitable audit coverage.
  • Stay informed about regulatory changes and market developments that may affect the business landscape.
  • Assist in the implementation of automation strategies to optimize the audit process.
  • Create enhanced analytics, diagnostic reports, and tools to support audit-related tasks.
  • Demonstrate a keen ability to assess risk in business decisions that involve compliance and operational challenges.

Required Skills

  • Profound understanding of compliance risk management concepts and effective governance frameworks.
  • Significant experience in Mortgage Servicing, QA/QC, or Risk Management disciplines.
  • Excellent project management abilities with a proven capacity to coordinate, track, and report multiple assignments simultaneously.
  • Self-driven and analytical mindset, with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, adept at conveying complex information to management effectively.
  • Proven capability to foster professional relationships and think strategically.
  • High level of attention to detail and the ability to make sound, independent judgments based on your expertise.
  • Proficient in various PC applications, including Outlook, Excel, Word, SharePoint, MS Project, PowerPoint, and Visio.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field; advanced degrees or professional certifications (such as CPA, CIA, CISA, CRCM, CAMS, MBA, etc.) are highly preferred.
  • A minimum of 7 years of pertinent experience in regulatory processes, operations, and activities within the mortgage servicing sector.

Compensation And Benefits

  • Offering a competitive salary in the range of \(89,000 to \)100,000 annually.
