Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated IT Security Engineer II to join our esteemed Information Security team in a fully remote capacity. This role is pivotal in defending our organization's IT assets against diverse security threats. You will take charge of implementing and sustaining comprehensive security measures, performing meticulous risk assessments, and assuring compliance with pertinent policies and regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Spearhead initiatives to enhance community awareness of contemporary security practices and emerging threats.
  • Create and deliver compelling training materials and awareness campaigns tailored for various audiences.
  • Facilitate engaging security training sessions customized to departmental requirements, both in-person and online.
  • Conduct thorough risk assessments to ensure adherence to regulatory standards such as PCI, HIPAA, and FERPA while fostering a culture of continuous security enhancement.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across the organization to incorporate best security practices and provide guidance on effective risk management strategies.
  • Assist in the revision of policies, conduct compliance reviews, and evaluate third-party relationships to minimize risks.
  • Assess network architecture and configurations for vulnerabilities, ensuring the efficacy of security measures such as authentication, encryption, and intrusion detection methods.
  • Maintain security baselines, automate responses to incidents, and improve incident detection capabilities while participating in incident response activities and security assessments.
  • Advocate for diversity and inclusion within the IT domain, promoting an inclusive environment through all communications and actions.

Required Skills

  • Excellent communication abilities, capable of engaging both technical and non-technical stakeholders effectively.
  • Proven experience in designing and leading security training programs.
  • Familiarity with security protocols, risk management strategies, and compliance frameworks, including NIST, ISO, and COBIT.
  • Understanding of security technologies and platforms such as SIEM, SOAR, IDS/IPS, firewalls, and cloud security management tools.
  • Demonstrated capability to manage large-scale security projects with a keen awareness of current technology trends.

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience in IT security, particularly in risk management.
  • Preferred certifications include CISSP, CEH, CRISC, or similar.
