The Role

HuffPost is seeking a dedicated, knowledgeable, and creative Audience Editor to help cultivate the largest, most engaged, and diverse audience on the internet. This is a full-time, hybrid, permanent position. We are looking for qualified candidates who can commute into our New York City office space two days a week, but are open to remote applicants as well. 

You Will

  • You’ll be well-versed in optimizing content for search and social platforms, and packaging and distributing content across social channels. 
  • You’ll have good editorial judgment across a broad range of content, and be a creative, collaborative colleague. 
  • You will have experience with common newsroom analytics platforms and will be comfortable discussing data insights with colleagues who may be unfamiliar with analytics. 
  • You will liaise with HuffPost’s Trends and Breaking teams, providing feedback and guidance on our coverage and original reporting. 
  • You will coordinate HuffPost’s syndication strategy, managing push alerts, pitches, and regular reporting.
  • You will thrive on working collaboratively with the rest of the audience team, as well as writers and editors across HuffPost. 
  • You will participate in audience team activities – from engagement projects (callouts, UGC, AMAs, and beyond) to video ideation and distribution, assisting with tentpole coverage, and community activities – to encourage an engaged, diverse readership and viewership. 
  • You will communicate proactively and thoughtfully with your colleagues, focusing on delivering audience insights to a newsroom hungry to learn more about our readers and viewers. 
  • You may be asked to share your knowledge with your colleagues through presentations or training.

You Have

  • You will have a minimum of two years of experience working in digital media, content strategy, or audience development. 
  • You will exhibit a deep understanding of audience data and analytics and can intuit trends and articulate actionable insights. 
  • You are comfortable with social scheduling across platforms like Facebook, X, and Instagram,  and crafting copy that fits HuffPost’s brand voice. 
  • You are well-versed in news and lifestyle SEO; familiarity with tools like SEMRush and Google Search Console is a plus. 
  • You are fast and precise in breaking news events, while also staying organized as you manage long-term projects.
